The black line is the main keyword. I think that it jumped up because of a refresh and then went back down because the page has too many backlinks with that anchor pointing to it (anchor distribution problem).

In the second image you can see the same keyword in red for a longer period of time. You can see that it tries to go up but something is blocking it every single time.

What could cause this? is it an anchor distribution problem, on page keyword density or something else? Did anyone experienced such a pattern?

Maybe its just a normal google dance. People can't judge your website as long as they don't see it (its KW density, anchor ratio etc.) by themselves, so don't care about what they write.

What if I tell you that nobody knows for sure!

You can suspect Google's behavior based on solely one of your backlinks.

How old is your domain, what about your other pages' rankings.

Did something happened in your niche recently?

You need to look at the bigger picture and consider the context of this move.

Add some unique and high quality content. Try to add around 300-400 words without any keywords. Just a neutral text describing your niche etc. Then wait for 7-10 days and check how it goes. You can also check if your website is over-optimized by taking a look on your competition (Top 3). Their anchor text, kw density etc..

    I hope this helps.
