I read some...pissed me off too much. Legalize it all. Let people do drugs, let them get high. If it's so bad, they will die off, cleaning the gene pool and, in turn, drug use will go down.

Buying drugs over the internet has never seemed like a smart idea to me, no matter how many precautions you plan on taking (or may have already taken). I mean come on, you don't even really know the person you're buying the stuff off of!

Silk Road is intriguing in itself, and I'm all for the legalization of drugs (within reason obviously, essentially only marijuana in my personal opinion); but it's always been a ticking time bomb!

Buy your weed on the street like us normal folk.

Actually, as someone who has bought drugs over the web over 100 times it's much safer than buying on the streets.

In fact, for 6 years straight when I use to smoke weed I bought every gram of that weed online. And I bought everything else you can think of.

It's one of the safest ways to get drugs as long as you know what you're doing.

For instance, for pot, there is onlinepot.org. The owner of that site is pro-weed, very well known, has been operating forever and all his sources are vouched for first. Then the vendor pays for ad space, you discretely contact them, everything is done anonymous, cash payments, no trails, and since the goods are shipped domestically it's illegal to search them.

There are vendors on there who've been shipping for years and years and years and they know what they're doing.

Then there are forums dedicated to harder stuff. Much safer than silkroad. If you need steroids, theres eroids. You need anything else, theres drugbuyersguide. All the sources are vouched for by forum admins and mods. And I can only speak for the US, but for international orders you have a 98% success rate. Till this day I've never had 1 package seized. If they are the package gets mailed back to the vendor and reshipped for free.

My point is, it's completely dependent on the environment. Silk road was like the wild wild west. It was way too big, everything was done in the same place and AFAIK there was no proper vouching system.

Same thing with The Farmers Market. They were like a mini silk road. And I used them many times but I knew they'd be shut down merely for accepting paypal. But here's what's crazy, I ordered MDMA 1 week before the FBI shut them down. The entire forum was saturated with cops and I still got my shit. Then 2 weeks later I received a warning letter from the FBI saying "we found your address in a system and have REASON TO SUSPECT you may have been ordering controlled substances online".

I took that letter and set it on fire.

After the FBI went through all that bullshit, wasted 2 full years and spent all that money... most the vendors from farmers market were back in business just a few weeks later. I got a letter from my regular vendor. He switched to a fully anonymous system, all cash payments, I set up an order again like normal things were back in business.

There are people who truly think it's safer to go walk outside your home, and ask friends or strangers for drugs. The simple fact is thats not true. There are hundreds of ways you can get busted buying drugs on the streets. But online when these market places are set up correctly you are guaranteed (if you do your research) to get what you pay for. It's not just the vouching system but when you take a deep look at forums like drugbuyers, when you have hundreds of respected, long term members posting feedback on x vendor every single day you know exactly what is going on. If there's a postal strike you know immediately. A delay in shipping you know it. If someone send out a batch of bad anything you know it. If a scammer got in the system or hacked someones address you know it.

There is always a very small chance of getting scammed but I never once got scammed, never once didn't get exactly what I paid for, and never once got in trouble. In fact, the ONLY TIME I got arrested was when I was younger and use to do my business on the streets. These days I don't order much of anything online anymore (for myself). But I still watch all the marketplaces like a hawk. Mainly for friends or a random event. Like 4th of July I may get some ket, mdma or xanax. Or a friend may ask for a cycle of test prop. As crazy as it may sound to some, your local mailman is your safest drug dealer. Cause he has no fucking idea what he's giving you.

Websites like the "silk road" "blackmarket reloadeded" "atlantis", etc have been around for years. I remember in early 2000 when everyone was using FarmersMarket, the Silk road just made the concept of buying drugs off the internet mainstream. All of the media attention around the silk road killed it. Also Ross Ulbrict or whoever was the Dread Pirate Roberts was really sloppy about his security.

There could be a big "crackdown" soon if Fedex gets convicted and has to start inspecting more?

A short way in to the Wired article, and I dashed back here only to note that it's a great read.

I remember reading the Wired article on NetJets - similarly fascinating to me, at least.

I find it shocking the way the governments clamp down on all these sites and yet the "hidden internet" is full of pedos still. Its a money game plain and simple.
