    Hi Guys,

    I've been a avid listening on here for a few months, taking advice from the forums but never made a post. Now google have decided our website has unnatural links.

    I realise that there are many posts on here about this but wanted to know if i have done things right and if not please tell me:

    We have around 10 domains setup just to push links for our main keyword and website (was 3rd in google now boom gone)
    Since i got the message in webmaster I have taken these websites offline (good idea or bad?)

    Around 50 links anchor text uses fully or incoporates our main keyword (and many are from the same directory). Should I try to change the text of this because they are too similar?

    The rest of my links are made up of various kwords

    We only have around 280 links according to backlinkwatch

    Is there anything else i should be doing or what can i expect from the changes I have tried if anything?

    All the best guys

    If you received an unnatural link warning and your website needs to recover, meaning its a brick and mortar business or an established brand. Then you need to do everything you can to remove the unnatural links. So yes, taking down those networks was a good idea.

    You also want to target all other unnatural links as well, even those that are out of your control.

    Start by using services like linkdelete.com or deletebacklink.com (if you have directory links). They will do the process for you and dirt cheap none the less.

    Hi Linkguy, thanks for your reply!

    I have since contacted some of the linked websites, I have asked some to change anchor text and others to remove (if I have all totally removed even rep sites like the yellow pages, yahoo dir, then wouldn't that totally wrong? or does g hate them too...)

    What exactly are 'unnatural links', I mean everyone builds links in some form or fashion the big G! really arn't nice are they :/(

    Again thanks :=)

    It can be a nightmare tracking down links and removing them, but if you NEED this site to work (i.e. a new domain not possible) then it's probably the best option.

    Actually not everyoen builds links, and thats what Google wants is that the web "naturally" links to eachother. The lower quality Web2.0s and blatant paid links are what causes the most problems these days...

    I believe I saw some companies offering service to remove unnatural or bad links. May be you can Google it and check out.

    "Google It" This made me laugh a little inside as im a tad upset at them and their wicked ways :(

    We do need this site to work as Linkguy rightly spoted we are a brick and mortor store. I will have a look at some of those link delete fellos!

    When this is sorted could you possibly point me in the right direction as to who could work with us on building our online profile? I'd love one of the guys on this forum as they seem to know what they are doing and I am pre-novice :)

    :=)

    Home Page:
    I have the same massage from google for 2 sites. First was with forum profile links - some of them was on deindexed domains.
    Second was with quality links only, but the mistake I do was pinging all links everyday. You can get the same massage for high anchor density or even can get deindexed for doorway page.

    I think our problem is high anchor density as it seems to be only our main kw that has dropped off the face of the planet. Others have seen a decrease by one or two and some havn't moved at all. Thx for your input! :)

    So use Bing instead :)

    In all honesty Bing gives much better results these days.

    You know something, I have actually started using bing more now and noticed that too perhaps because we rank well in bing :eek:O. Its hard to know really as one tends to be biased towards ones own website!

    Im sure some people like us have all their home pages set to google in the office, you can't argue against the fact that it loads alot more quickly than other major SE's (or can you?)

    Anyway lets see where this goes!

    rename your urls this will kill negative juice...... as for links towards home page you will not be able to do much about them
