I have received the dreaded webmaster tool unnatural links message yesterday, but all my rankings are the exact same.

Anyone else experienced this or does it take time for my rankings to drop!

I have never received one of those but I believe the rankings drop occurs in the next 1-2 weeks after from what I have read.

Exactly the same message I received last year and in 1 week all my keywords were wiped out grom G. Since then I erase my webmaster tools account GA and everything related to G. I think you should expect the worse.

I am almost positive it was some sape links I bought from a provider here. Never done that before and never had an unnatural link message.

It can take up to a week or 2 for you to see your rankings start dropping after you get that message.

Does the unnatural links message trigger a manual review?
I wonder why the delay, perhaps the system puts you in queue to get fucked?

No I didn't, I'm waiting to see if secondary KWs will hold but I doubt.
Don't know what to do yet, but I won't use google tools for new websites.

Got the "unnatural links" message, after 2-3 days ALL my main keywords were wiped out.
Never managed to get them back

I would wait on sending in a reconsider request- cause this might be a general warning to everyone like they did last year. Given the hype of a update rolling thru, and bbc getting a unnatural notice warning, I would hold off for a week.

We had 3 of those messages yesterday, and I can almost tell you with 100% certainty that it is sape links causing it. Reason behind me saying this is the 3 sites we got those messages for had nothing but 100% sape links.

I received a couple of those notices one year ago. One site was an affiliate site test ground that had tanked prior to receiving the notice.

The second site is a 10 year old authority site. It had some ALN links sent to inner pages months earlier. I hadn't even checked WMT, but did once I noticed a dip in traffic. That was one month after the notice was sent. The site in question had held #1 rankings for a couple main terms for years. It was nearly 2 months after the notice date until it slipped off page one. Some terms and inner pages would/do bounce on and off page one. The main phrase is now on page 3. It is still page one for some lesser terms.

I monitored the links and waited until all the ALN links were gone (G took care of that with massive deindexing.) I submitted 2 reconsideration requests and both were denied, stating they still saw unnatural links pointing to the site - THEY REFUSE TO GIVE EXAMPLES.

I have done almost no link building, just natural social stuff. The site gets links naturally and continues to do so. It already had a ton of links prior to the penalty. Now at least half of the search traffic is people searching for the brand name. I don't know if G is less heavy handed on branded sites? I'm hoping the penalty falls off soon.

I feel your pain. The same thing has happened to me on a few sites. Now they don't even respond to my reconsideration requests anymore even though most of the bad links are gone now since a lot of those sites aren't even live anymore.

To OP: Simple solution is kill the SAPE service. I would also get a list of the links if you can and once your links drop off I would ping the shit out of them to try and get them recrawled. Then I would submit a reconsideration and let them know that some shady SEO guy did it and you have corrected the issue.

The great thing about getting penalized for SAPE links is it's a monthly service so you can dump the service and get the penalty removed than do it again. Rinse and repeat. I'm sure G may catch on at some point though.

Haha don't say that too loud or you'll cause mass hysteria on this board. All it took was a small hint from Matt Cutts for 10 threads to pop-up a couple of weeks ago.

But sorry to hear about your sites though, I had about $75k in lost revenue since last March after getting one of those messages.

    Cheers!

Hey did you ever get your sites back up? Is it even worth trying or just starting over. Was looking at doing $20k in sales this month. Guess that's not happening
