    Hello BHW,

In my Google webmaster account, I have got this massage.

"We've detected that some of the links pointing to your site are using techniques outside Google's Webmaster Guidelines. We don't want to put any trust in links that are unnatural or artificial, and we recommend removing any unnatural links to your site. However, we do realize that some links may be outside of your control. As a result, for this specific incident we are taking very targeted action to reduce trust in the unnatural links. If you are able to remove any of the links, you can submit a reconsideration request, including the actions that you took.
If you have any questions, please visit our Webmaster Help Forum."

Please, let me know how to find those un-natural links and how can I get rid of it.

    Thanks

If you ranking dropped only 10-15 positions, don't do anything. Don't submit any reconsideration requests or kiss your domain goodbye if you do. Take it easy on high PR and exact match anchor text links if you did any for the next few weeks.

Hm.. i've tried a lot of massages in my short existence, but never this one :D

Ok, first pour yourself a nice double finger of malt whiskey, shot it down, and then go to read Partymarty's thread about this.. I believe his rankings were stable for 1 month, before collapsing down the serps but not 100% sure.

Check the new video matt cuts posted in this thread.. see at the 1.42 mark he talks of payed links. I've never seen of heard of a message in webmaster tools specifically like the one you received but to me it sounds like it could be related to this. If you have any site wide or payed links pointing to you're site my guess is this could be the reason.

cash202 gave you a great advice, if you didn't loose any significant ranking, shake your head and keep walking.

LE: I posted at the same time as the OP did LOL.

    Mate, don't do anything.

Stop link building for about 2 weeks then go for the safe method, no more spam links to your money site and you'll be gold.

you saved me the effort there GiorgioB. I'll actually have to update that thread soon - because I'm starting to see some improvements. (not enough to make my findings public yet, but getting there!)

But to the OP - it's pretty much a penalty on over optimised anchors. So start using those "click here" "more info" "website" anchors along with lots of naked url links.

It's up to you whether you file a recon request. I didn't, and wouldn't until the very last resort. Because the moment you do it's a manual review for you, and right now it's just a fight between you and an algorithmic filter - which is way easier to fool than a real live member of the G webspam team.

start de-optimising the pos #2 keyword NOW - don't do it tomorrow, don't have a cigarette, don't make a coffee START NOW WHILE IT'S STILL THERE.

Just start creating links with generic anchors and also with naked url's. This will help to reduce the percentage of your main anchors in overall backlinks. Don't submit any reconsideration request (They instantly disapprove it). Submit the reconsideration request only if your website out of the serp's otherwise just diversify the link profile.

I was only doing some blog commenting, DS, SB, article and blog post all manually and the content was manual spun. But wait I also did some backlinks to some website as side-wide links and footer links. But now I removed those links from websites. So do I have to remove these side-wide and footer links with the use of Disavow link tool?

You know what I am doing all this from last two month but the thing is Old seo agency who was working previous for my client's website used all exact match keywords. I already creating backlinks with naked url, generic keywords and more as you mentioned above. but the ratio is quite big as exact match keywords are nearly 50%. So I am planning to remove the old exact match keywords backlinks but I am also afraid that one keyword that is ranking well will also drop if I do something like this.

Well when ya see the video, and analyse what was said to you in the webmasters email it makes sense to me that that's what it is. I wouldn't use the disavow tool to disavow those links though, id just remove them and submit the request.. maybe give it a bit of time between doing that though so the links can stop showing in google's index as linking to your site.

Id email and email and email the site owners that they're on asking them to remove them first and try and get as much as I can or at least a decent percent of them removed that way first. If they're on spammy blogs ya might be lucky that ya'll be pushed off the blogroll / site wide link spots by other link builders too.

    you asked for help.
Everyone told you not to submit the reconsideration request, but you did.
So now I guess you're on your own

BTW, removing these paid links won't help. Only manual review can remove these penalty but they will scrutinise everything. For most people here it mean "kiss the domain goodbye".
