Unique content pointless if not KW optimized?

    Wondering if it's still effective or not in pumping out unique content even though it's not keyword optimized for the keyword you're trying to rank for.

    I'd argue that there's not really any such thing as "keyword optimized" any more.

    If you run a bot over the top 10 in any given niche, the keyword densities are all over the place. As long as you mention the keyword in there a few times, plus a few other related keywords so Googlebot knows what the page is about, you'll be ok.

    It's still ALL about backlinks in any semi-competitive niche!

    From my experience it really depends all on the backlinks that are pointing to it, and what the website is about overall.
