Ubuntu Laptops, Affiliate And Dropship

This is a new one I have yet to hear about. Sounds interesting. Do you have yourself a website setup for this? Think it will be popular? Most people who want linux I would say already know a good deal about computers.

I am in the process of setting the whole thing up right now, The website is currently one of many things currently being worked on as well as finalising the deal with the manufacturer. I agree that most people who want to use linux already know a lot about computers. I am looking to cover mainly the budget range of laptops, where a users main task is web and email,I will also have a higher end model in line with the products offered by system 76, I find oftem on forums that people have been asking for laptops and computers pre installed with ubuntu.

Actually thought this would have generated more interest so far.

It is interesting,

I suspect this might be a good business for you, I know I would like a light weight set up with no Microsoft disaster area to contend with for a Linux environment, but I wouldn't affiliate them for you as I don't think their would be enough margin for both of us.

Most retailers sell a Windows equivalent in order to capture the market, whereas you will be focusing on a narrow niche. Which is great and needed, but I reckon you should market it yourself, and you will do well.

Bring in affiliates and again you will do ok, but it's a small deal for an affiliate.

I would seriously consider being a customer though.

Thanks for the input. When everything is running i'll be sure to let you know.

Wow Coolspot this is really awesome. I have an Australian ecommerce site and I'm really hoping that in the next month or two (once you've sorted out everything) you'll accept us as a dropshipper.

Please Pm me your skype, I will message you when I am up and running.

All products will be shipped from the uk.

A friend and I were doing this in Houston, but to tell you the truth, there is a better gig you can do right now.

Windws XP is over. People using it re going to be hacked, and it is not fixable. XP is no longer supported, and anytime a vista/7 vulnerability is found, the XP version does not get fixed. As time goes by, more and more people are getting hacked with XP, and they do not know it.

Antivirus isn't going to help.

Millions of people are still using XP, either because they do not understand how dangerous it is now, or they don't know it is obsolete. Many of you on this forum still are using XP, and not planning to stop. They are fools, and potential customers.

Right now we are educating people on the hazards of XP, and switching them to either Unbunto or the REACT os. (React is a XP placement that acts just like windows.)

It only takes pointing businesses to the articles online to point out that they are in danger, real danger, of losing their business and personal information to hackers if they continue using XP. This information is on every major tech site, and it scares the hell out of them.

We are doing pretty good educating the folks and switching them to Linux (with WINE) or React.

This is a method that will work only for a little while, but right now its on fire. The more people are ignoring it in your community, the more customers you have available. All you have to do is explain that they are risking everything if they are using XP, and point them to the professionals in the world to confirm it.
