Its been a while since I posted on BHW, mostly because life got in the way. But since I have been gone, my brother and I came up with an idea to create a YouTube channel in a particular niche that we both found interesting. The goal was simple; create a YouTube channel focusing on this particular niche and drive legitimate traffic to it. We want to build a following and make quality content. We also want to make some cash in the process, perhaps even a decent living. For us, that would be around 2500 a month. That is why our goal is to make around 5000 a month. So far, our strategy has consisted of creating videos, posting them to our social media outlets made specifically for the channel, and posting to reddit. Reddit has been a pretty big resource for us, and we have managed about 2000 lifetime views in about a week as a result. Not much, but a fair start. We have monetized our videos as well, and the breakdown is something like this: Ad revenue earned: $0.28 Number of monetized playbacks: 370 Hey! We made money on YouTube. Now to ramp it up. We have about 5 videos now, and we are in the process of creating more. Now, the biggest problem has been getting our videos in front of eyes. Reddit did us some good, but that is certainly not enough. We need more social outlets. We need to find more legitimate traffic. I started this journal to both keep track of our progress and to seek out suggestions. All comments are appreciated.
