I have been doing affiliate marketing since about 2005, not full time or anything but just for some extra income, but I've studied enough on it to get myself familiar on what is expected of affiliate networks, and publishers, etc. I must say, it seems affiliate networks are not what they used to be. Ive caught two networks with horrific tracking / reporting, and caught them on one offer they said converted "first page submit", and it turns out the advertiser told the network the wrong description for the offer, and it didn't convert on first page, the user had to do all this other stuff (for a measly $.60 for the publisher)

The network by the way is Go Offers . Net , so I tried another offer that was a dating one, that said first page submit. Finally, after not 1 conversion for a week, I had a friend test the offer for me, as far as signing up with real information and even confirming their email which was not even required according to the conversion requirements for the offer. (Had it went through I would have informed my affiliate manager to take that lead off since it was a test lead), but Still no conversion. I sent another email to the affiliate manager who is now ignoring my emails.

What the heck happened to affiliate networks that used to not scrub offers and track leads legitimately. I know networks have always done this on SOME offers, but it seems like every offer I try to promote anymore is just not paying. Also CPA Way I noticed started getting shady with their tracking, and when the leads you send actually convert.

My traffic is mostly whitehat, maybe some grayhat, but nothing blackhat crazy, and some of these offers even allow incentives, and they still don't track properly!

CPA Way, for their email submits, I don't know why they are called email-submits since 99% of them don't convert on an email submit, they require the user to follow a "path"... which is going WAY beyond the second page, and scrolling through the offers, etc... just for a measly $1.40 conversion... I don't know how real full time affiliates are even making money off of some of these offers I've seen lately, requiring the user to do all this stuff, and the payout is like $.90 or something ridiculous.

I just want thoughts on this since it seems like alot of affiliate networks out there are becoming really unreliable.

Trust me, you are not alone. I noticed that with a few Major CPA networks myself.

Shit, even the CPA network I have right now (MaxBounty) is doing the same exact thing with the email submit's. Its no longer just submit the email and get a lead, if the user dose not follow a path then the advertiser dose not consider that a lead. Also, I notice for the Leads-Per-Download offers have totally incorrect descriptions. I know this for a fact since if I take that name of that offer and search for it on affpay.com or offersvault.com ill see other CPA network's put the actually description like: "convert's on install" but on maxbounty's description they would put "converts on download".

I don't think its maxbounty's doing per se as far as shaving goes but then again IDK, I think its the advertisers that they are using. For example, earlier in the year they used different company's for email submit's like: fatcatrewards.com, freereward..(I forgot the names). Now they are using: BRANDDEALONLINE.COM and I have had the worst conversion in years.

I use to make 50$ a day with this same traffic, now I make $1.50 with this same traffic (and the sad part is, the traffic is actually increasing but the conversions aren't)

One last thing I would like to note is that I know for a fact that there is shaving going on since when the offer's do convert's its always at 1:40 ratio, and I mean ALWAYS and that dose not seem natural at all to me.

Thanks for replying. I actually just got accepted with Maxbounty since it seems like they have been around for a long time, I hope what you said about them is not true. I got my first conversion on an email submit today, but 1 in 15... I used to have like a 20-30% covnersion rate with my traffic, and your exactly right, I am getting way more traffic, and the conversions have been less. I keep harassing the affiliate manager from Go Offers and she keeps ignoring me.

I am at the point where I am filling in my own offers on that site until they ban me, to see how many others don't convert.

You know, networks that do this crap, just make me WANT to find blackhat ways to get money from them, since they are basicly doing the same thing to us, they need a taste of their own medicine.

I think most of CPA networks are doing the same.
Also offers are miss landed and you doesn't get miss landed page conversion.
