i saw this on CNN this morning...the dude from WIRED said it more geared to stopping celebrity fakes on there...and not really at the basic human user (as they are currently discussing it at least.

but who knows, im sure it will only stop the slow minds, slow down the average bhatter, and give a chuckle to the elite :)

I agree lolzap, twitter conversions are down to a drip and it will only get slower and harder. I can see the hand writing on the wall. There is a giant freight train coming, horn blowing. It cannot be stopped.

As for me, I am keeping my main acct. I use for all my white-hat stuff. The rest I am selling while the selling is good........;)

Depends what they're planning I guess. Twitter accounts don't even need email verification at the minute.

They say it's in response to complaints of impostors, but I don't see how implementing a PVA system combats that.

"This guy submitted his 4-digit confirmation number, so he's clearly the real Bob Marley".

    No.

Won't the selling be better once new accounts have to be verified? I assume old accounts will be grandfathered in.

This only really applies to "celebrity" or "high profile" Twitter accounts.

Don't worry about it...unless you were planning on posing as Richard Simmons or something, in which case...what's wrong with you??

It's probably gonna be the same thing as Myspace Music is now. Just a little thing next to them that says official.

Heeyyyy! Now that's not a bad idea! You know he has a cult following of overweight old women who buy everything he has!

You could sell them anything in the world you wanted and they'd still believe it. "That's it girrrrrlllsss! Keep it coming...UH UH....COME ON ONE MORE ZIP SUBMIT....YOU CAN DOOOOO ITTTTTT!!"

It really doesn't matter, you can make money on Twitter with 0 followers.

IMO Twitter has gone to sh*t as far a marketing goes, there are too many people on there who are using programs to add people and then attempting to spam affilaite links. However they don't realize that 9/10 of their followers is doing the same thing and will never really click on their links since they really just have their links set to autopost and they check in once every month.

In the beginning when power spamming wasnt as frequent Twitter was a decent place to market but now.... I think its useless if you're just using bots to follow, DM and tweet.....

Twitter was solid but has recently fallen. If they were to implement a verified account system (craigslist?) we could BH around it and have a more captive audience.
