Twitter local strategy?

Really struggling with this...currently posting daily with related local content(news articles, etc)/retweeting/liking based on location. Also following/unfollowing using jarvee. Still barely getting any new followers at all. Any other suggestions to increase local followers on Twitter?

Maybe try to find some hashtags related to your local place, and include in your tweets.

Twitter’s advanced search page allows you to add geography to your search. For example, you can search through the most recent tweets posted within 1 or 5 miles of a city by name or zip code.

The search results are current tweets, so every time you do this search, you get different results.

Review the list of tweets and follow local people. Hopefully, they will follow you back.
