    Hey everyone,

So I've been in the Twitter game lately and so I've been super active, following people and tweeting (mostly quote RTs and mentioning other people). This morning I got temporarily suspended and they noted that I was "@-ing" too much, ie. mentioning too many people?

Can anyone explain this? I can't really explain but if someone is willing to look at my twitter ([at]MysteryblockCom) <-- that's the username, I would love to send you some +4 rep. Sorry that's all I can offer. :(

Thanks a lot everyone, really appreciate it!

I also forgot to mention that I only followed 200 or so users that day. Please someone explain this to me, thank you very much for your kindness

Twitter have very tough policies regarding following ,unfollowing and mentioning other users in tweets. Their is no specified limit but their are several factors on which these limits are depended. These are :-
    1) Number of days passed since you have made your account.
    2) No of people following you
    3)Activeness
    4) Quality tweets i.e. not just replies but sharing of other information like links and images.
5)Rate of following and unfollowing people. You should not unfollow more than 100 people in a day.

I hope that this might have cleared you doubts. But if still they prevail and feel free to carry on this conversation. :)

Then you might have unfollowed to many people in a single day or maybe heavy following.

It's probably more a matter of aggressive following than mentioning.

Take a look at this it might help a little in your quest

    Direct Messages: 250 per day.
    API Requests: 150 per hour.
Updates: 1,000 per day. FYI Retweets are counted as updates.
Changes to Account Email: 4 per hour.
Daily Following: This is a technical limit imposed by Twitter. The official number is 1,000 per day.
Other Following Rules: Once your account is following 2,000 other Tweeters, following rules are dictated by account specific ratios.

We have a pretty solid number of people following us, we're active, and we now have a mix of quote retweeting, legit fact tweets, and mentioning. We don't unfollow more than 100 a day, it's more like around 50. And we have never followed more than 400 people in one day.

Our following count is now 1500. I've been working on this specific Twitter since it was idle at 950 that means I only followed about 600 in 4 days = safe.

There are accounts that follow up to 10k more than I do and they are still fine.

If you are doing things safely, you should contact Twitter and determine why your account was really banned. It can be an error and your account shouldn't have been banned in the first place. They sometimes ban accounts immediately even if their suspicions are not great.
