    Hi,

I know Twitter have recently tightened their belts with automation. About 18 months back I could easily follow 50 - 100 users a day without getting an account ban, though now, seems like if I step over 20 - 25 follows a day I get canned.

Is it still the case if you have more followers you can follow more in ratio. IE an account with 50k followers can follow more in a day than an account with 500 followers?

If so, is there any hard and fast ratios kicking about for advice?

Are you definitely sure it's the amount of follows you're doing that's getting you banned?

From my experience with Twitter most bans come from individual users reporting rather than pushing the API limits. I can still follow 100-150 a day with no bans, on private proxies.

Hmmm, yeah, I'd assumed that was the issue. I'm following and unfollowing manually, not using software since TweetAdder bit the dust originally awhile back, never returned to look at the new tweet adder as it looks most functions were removed.

    You using bots or manual??

With that few follows u get banned? OMG. I recommend you to get more followers from your niche, better profile targetting will lead to a more efficient campaign.

PD: Unfollow users with low activity or inactive

I can do much more than 200 & not get banned on my personal account. This may be due to the low amount of tweets that do not have any links in them, age of account, activity timeframes.

well, I m using bot, 1) follow users that provide "followback" to get a normal ratio of Followed/Followers, 2) follow 1000 - 2000 followers of accounts from the same niche (it was so 3 months ago - I need to check it to be sure for today), 3) in 3 days unfollow all who is not following back. So last time I got banned was when I was in a hurry and haven`t changed proxies, so 3 accounts unfollowed users from 1 IP. Try to make pause between actions longer (human behavior) and it will be OK.

    use private proxies.

if you are using 10 accounts. do it like this

follow people on five accounts one day.
follow people on other five another day.

i used this personally, i have experienced the same problem as you described.

Hmmmm, really interesting. I'm using no bots, not automation, no proxies. All natural human behaviour. Could it then be less likely the velocity or volume of people being followed - and more likely complaints from people actually complaining to Twitter about it being spam perhaps?
