Hey guys, wanted to contribute a site idea that I think will be very beneficial for some of you. I'm launching 3 more niche twitter clones next week. Easy to build, some css and php coding skills required. Promoting them using your other blackhat/whitehat methods, this would be very easy to do.
Laconica is open source microblogging software that allows you to run your own twitter like site. Plus, it also hooks into openid for users to register as well as links up into other laconica sites on the network. You can also hook your own site to ping.fm.. Post feeds to it, links to it, allow others to do the same. Run adwords on it, whatever you want I guess. You could rule any niche in the microblogging sphere. you guys are smart. Think of the uniqueness of the ideas you create. You need either dreamhost or bluehost or another provider that offers the neccessary backend, but shared hosting should work fine for niche sites.

There's an installer for it called the gimme installer - do a google search and you should find it. Took me a few days to get the hang of the system. But it's pretty straightforward now that I've played with it.
Anyway, it's another way to get ahold of a niche market and have 24/7 access to them.
Just an idea. Hope someone finds the concept useful.
