Wouldn't bother. Twitter is on a bot hunt and are temp suspending anybody they think is a bot for doing something too fast or slow, even if they are not. If they detect anything automated you will have to SMS verify to get your account back or face a IP range ban. Same goes for using proxies and VPNs.

That isn't what I hear. When Elon took over there was quite a lot of fear around as he was making lots of noise about going after bots, but it hasn't materialised. No more or less than before. Blocks / bans have always happened and continue to happen. Sure it's not as easy as it was 5 years ago, but that's across the board. Botting just gets harder and harder each year, just the nature of the game. The only thing that has appeared to have happened is shadowbans happen more, but it's not a massive bot take down, just hear a bit more noise about it.

The are starting to lock you out of Twitter accounts and you have to verify your phone number to get back in again. Do you know of any way around this? Or an online service that does number verification?

I have had one of my accounts lose upwards to 500-620 followers a week for the past 2 months. Suspended just for "bot behavior" or using 3rd party API based twitter tools. Yes bots are a thing but this new system he has that we haven't fully grasped today is going overkill killing folks off.

This! And it doesn't matter if you're just liking one post only a day. This started as soon as he started banning social media links. I saw this very heavy with accounts that shared any amount of YouTube links, which up until he changed it was a thing.

Just wait until his new PayPal killer comes out. Then we will be in the shit!

Yes public API bots get targteted, always have, was the same 5+ years ago before the public API was closed and made request only. Anyone running F/U bots through the public API had it coming, it would be a simple query to ID all those bots. My point is, this is a game, it's back and forth. People talk like Elon has ended the game and he's won, there is no more botting on twitter. Things are the same as they have been always. Nothing new or extreme has happened since Elon took over that I have seen / been made aware of. As a twitter bot developer for 8 years now, when an anti bot campaign kicks off I tend to hear about it. Since Elon took over, I've heard fears and concerns, but reports of bans / blocks etc have been the same as they have always been. That isn't to say tomorrow he doesn't wipe out them out, but I doubt it.

This has always happened. Am not hearing of it happening with any more or less frequency since the Elon take over

I'm in regular contact with people running big real / life accounts realistic to people running 1000s of spam accounts hitting twitter hard 24x7. So Elon banned social media links. He announced it. Either cloak them, or stop doing it, if he has said he is banning facebook links and you keep posting facebook links, it's not a difficult thing to detect and ban.

If I had had a dollar for everytime someone had declared botting dead in the last 14 years or so, I'd be a lot richer than I am now lol. But yes, it could happen, but unlikely IMO

As always, we shall wait and see what happens, then roll with the punches and carry on

Just because he hasn't gotten your people yet doesn't mean it's coming, #1.

I am running a very famous account and we've had problems with tools we've been using for 10 years with no issues. Take it with a grain of salt or sand, #2.

I I had a dollar for everytime somebody sat up on the hill and said it's not happening to so and so so it must not be happening I would be a lot richer too, lol.

I'm reporting for the benefit of the community what's happening to people like me who are NOT botting out/gaming the system and doing it legit and the things I've experienced since his hostile takeover.

Also, I get it about links, but the reality is people were posting a massive amount of social media links in the past, and now with the banning of YouTube it is unfair accounts that share said links are being targeted, and some ARE.

So yeah, we rolling with punches but just because you haven't been hit yet doesn't negate those who have.

most definitely. But that's sort of what I said. I haven't heard anything out of the ordinary. Lots of customers are in groups or active in communities with other botters using other tools. Usually when things are kicking off I hear about it.

Sure all data points are valid, but one persons issues post Elon doesn't mean that on the whole twitter automation is any different what it has always been.

Sure and always when there is a anti-bot drive, loads of innocents get rolled up in it. There is no, there is a roll back and things carry on, maybe not the same, but the same. So far, all I've really seen of anything concrete done is the targeting of API bots, which, lets be honest are the lowest lying fruit to target
