What do you think about it?

Twitter always had a big impact on SEO.

In my opinion retweets are way more important than for example fb likes.

Yes, and it will make a good impact. Social Media is now major part of SEO.

I am really just considered about how this will impact the current rankings. Might have more work to do in the future to overcome tweets from very popular accounts.

Thats major, but surely someone could spam tweets a lot on numerous accounts, have a spinned tweet 1000s of times and just use a bot to tweet it on hundreds of accounts for crazy SERP?

Sum it up for you real quick...It won't mean squat.

In essence tweets are now going to become a commodity in the Serps. What happens when something becomes a commodity? It LOSES Value.

I'm sure someone will find a way to use it in a positive way. But overall I'd bet the farm it becomes much ado about nothing.
