Tumblr shut me down. 'spam/affiliate marketing'. *sigh*
Sorry for you. You played. You lost.
That is PAINFUL 98k followers is alot on tumblr. Sorry dude
ouch...that must have taken forever to get that...sorry for your loss man
Well said... IM is one big casino.
How much money where you making from this many followers?
I just got shut down with 55k followers for the second time. It sucks so much.
It was clear that at a certain moment, tumblr will start and hunt down the accounts which don't seem legit.
sorry for your loss, I hope you didn't put all your eggs in the same basket.
Same here I lost several tumblr account .. one with 30k and one with 23k followers. It gets harder and harder!
Well, may i know what you did? Simply place click throughs in photos and add caption links?
Anyway this sucks.
I always thought tumblr won't shut down accouts with huge followers, looks like not so.
Oh 90k followers from 60 accounts. I kinda have a same story here, and actually I did outplayed tumblr and the real problem for me is complaints from other people which made it hard to find advertisement to monetize from. What do you use to monetize? CPA/CPM/CPS?
I think I can find a way to pull contents from hamster to wordpress site, but wouldn't you still need tumblr for traffic? If you use wordpress with your own hosting, where do you get traffic?
Maybe we can share some taktiks, strategies here on staying under the radar.. As I tried my best and still got banned
tumblr shut me down a couple times.. but i only had like 1k followers each time...
What I do now is I have an off-tumblr website, I put everything on there then i have like 10 tumblr accounts where i post stuff with the click through going to my website.
I also edit my tumblr page so it is just a full iframe with my website in it. and a line of text on top saying website moved to http://***********.com
I think there's not too much about it, cuz as long as you post links/advertise in your blog they will ban you eventually, you cannot really stay under the radar since the purpose of having a tumblr blog is to let other people see it, and some angry people who might just wake up on the wrong side of the bed would report you anyway. And the only thing you can do is forget about it and move on.
IMO you should stay away from investing too much time / relying on making money on platforms like tumblr, youtube and the likes. Don't get me wrong i make money from youtube vids myself but because it can be pulled at any time it's not sustainable, i see it more of a way of boosting profits until they are pulled... that being said even your own website real estate isn't guaranteed to last in the rankings these days with all the google updates but at least it can only be deleted by you!
Curious asking what Theme were you using ?
Oh my goodness. I have 3 big accounts on tumblr. I am promoting adult affiliate programs on directly. Are those accounts will ban soon?
contact tumblr support and asked them
Most of the Tumblr blogs made for advertising will be banned sooner or later. You need to scale and repeat. Driving traffic to your blog/website is really important.
