WTF I don't know if its their new ownership or what but I've had a couple adult blogs up there for well over a year now with no issue what so ever. I don't have ads or anything on them. Not even pop unders or anything. And Boom I just got IP banned! All of the followers were real legit followers to because I got them from social networking via dating sites, etc etc.

This happen to anyone else? Anyone know why?

They have been banning blogs already long time and there doesn't seem to be any pattern, well except that many were making money. Like in your case it has happened without ads or affiliate links on the blog. I would say that get over and move on...

You need to go into your tumblr settings and set your adult tumblr to NSFW. Otherwise if you post nudies to a regular tumblr it will get banned.

Tumblr recently got purchased by Yahoo, but that should not be the reason for the termination of your blog. Tumblr clearly states:

"Tumblr welcomes and encourages all forms of expression, but we have to be sensitive to the millions of readers and bloggers from different locations, cultures, and backgrounds with different points of view concerning mature or adult-oriented content. There are a lot of people in our community who would rather not see this stuff and could even get in trouble if they did."

"If your blog contains nudity, mature or adult-oriented content, please respect the choices of the people in our community and flag your blog NSFW from your Settings page."

Was your blog flagged as NSFW? It could have been terminated if it was not. Usually, Tumblr flags it for you though:

"Blogs can also be flagged by Tumblr if they fall into this category."

Were you following/unfollowing in an aggressive manor? Using any bots? Anything of that nature? That would be my only explanation, unless there was content that Tumblr felt crossed the line. Example: Underage pics.

Well this happened a while ago but.. The blog was a good year old and I had it marked NSFW.

The blog did however link to my affiliated site.. But still, that should be ok. I was promoting CrakRevenue offers and they recently started giving tips about how to increase traffic. And they even said Tumblr is a great source of traffic and that we should use them. I was using Tumblr way before m CrakRev even mentioned that its a good way to drive traffic.

So either Tumblr is screwing people over now or even worse CrakRev is giving out false information.

Were they direct links to affiliate offers? Or were they links to your main site that promoted the affiliate offers?

I have never direct linked from tumblr to affiliate offers, but I have linked to my main site just fine. A direct link, at least in my mind, would be detected as spam content by Tumblr.

Well, when a user on Tumblr clicked any of the pictures it would send them to a cam site (not the signup page or anything) Just the cam site.

I had a couple blogs and they both lasted for a good year and then boom IP banned all the sudden.

Well then why didn't they ban me longggg ago and just do it all of the sudden? I wasn't mass following/unfollowing or anything. I had natural followers.

I'm not sweating it now tho as I figured a way around it but was just a bummer it came out of nowhere after I had been doing it for so long without any worries.

Did you manage to get my account back? Tumblr is heavy handed with using its account ban hammer. I had the same thing happen to me, and at the time I was trying to do everything right, play by their rules, etc. But they refused to explain their ban to me or even communicate me, which has led me to seriously abuse their services (and ironically make a lot more $$ than I was originally). However that was never my intention, and after all is said and done I would be glad to settle down with a few blogs that will grow forever than dozens/hundreds that last 6-12 months.. I don't think they realize the effect their policy has on people. Its like sending kids to prison for 10 years for possession of 2g of weed, where they are anally raped and turned into hardened sociopathic criminals who end up inflicting harm upon society. Well its not exactly like that, but, the moral is be careful how you choose to fight evil.

No I wasn't able to get it back. But, my blog wasn't updated regularly and wasn't an auto blog or anything. I drive traffic to it by other means.

But if mine just gets deleted I just change the IP on my phone, make a new account/blog and then back in business.
