Do a little bit of everything:

- Article submission
- Social bookmarking
- Xrumer blast (small after you've gotten plenty of quality backlinks)
- edu backlinks
- linkwheel
- angela paul backlink service

Look in the 'Services For Sale' section, and you'll find plenty of these services for sale.

Do onsite seo like having good, relevant content and keywords on your page.

This where we can make the moolah

You can also try posting on craigslist. I know many people in the same type of biz who do only craigslist and get good income

I appreciate everyone's advice, I cancelled my dad's adwords campaign and am in the process of purchasing Yelp! ad space, seems way more targetted. Any suggestions / tips?

Also, have you set up a google places listing for the business ?
Yep, the printed Yellow Pages is dying.

Don't forget Yahoo and Bing.

Use getlisted.org as a good place to start Local SEO.

I would ditch the pharse Southern California. You are not going to chase business in San Diego which is in Southern California. I suspect that most of your business is within 10-20 miles of your business. So I would use location identifiers such as West Los Angeles, Santa Monica, maybe San Fernando Valley.

Hey I'm helping out with an offline family business too, here
are my thoughts:

- Basic on-site stuff is a must since it's SO easy.

- If you have something useful to say, normal article
writing would be nice. If you're looking to write articles
purely for the sake of backlinks I don't think it's necessary.

- Google Places is a must.

- Find forums where your target audience hang out; for me,
I find expat forums etc, and ask to advertise on them.

- Google Adwords if your budget allows.

I don't think link-bulding etc will hurt your site, but simply
unnecessary.

Be sure to put up testimonials, those are really useful for
offline businesses.

And for the nature of your particular business, yeah door-to-door
and flyers will definitely help, hire someone to do it once you've
got the hang of it yourself, for the long-term.

You can create backlinks on your own or if your budget allows you,you can hire an expert to get it done efficiently.

Google search "Neon Yellow Hand Written Signs" and "Azam Meo". The guy is a genius. If you don't get at least 10 new customers in the first week of using his methods (TOTALLY CONSERVATIVE), I will streak across America while flailing my arms.

you should build more backlinks for your keyword to attract more visitors to your site.

Hey, I hope business is picking up. I helped out my father with his handyman business. - anyway I blast about 10 cl ads a week, 2-3 yelp reviews a month- you don't need a paid yelp accout, just sign up for the free one and start a few reviews- also I have a youtube promo video of some work he did. All this generates about 400 hits a month- and about 25-30 paid booked jobs that average $450 per job- I do all his advertising- and now I'm learning about seo and look foward to senukex- so since I've worked at a storage place- I know its competive. Cl ads work great, I use vflyer its free and works great. The thing about stoarge, you have to know your customers. If your in a rich area, sell the security, if your in a low income area sell the discounts, like 2 free months with a 1 year pre-pay.

Also, what do you guys think of senukex? I still have a week left on the free trial.

I always had a good idea for a storage place. Here it is, its worth a million pesos.. Everyone has either sold or bought something on ebay right? Well how about you, as the friendly neighborhood storage guy, help people get things sold packaged and shipped on ebay. Just think of all the crap people have that they want to sell on ebay. You would be like auction drop, but without the 50% commision bs. You could either assist people with the shipping as I hope you sell boxes, if you don't well now you do. Or, you could be the main ebay account, part of the deal would be that people have to rent a storage unit, and they get the free selling assistance or heavily discounted.
So it would work like this, Mr. Smith sees your a nice local family owned storage that will assist in selling things on ebay as long as you rent a unit. Mr. smith rents a cheap 5x5 or whatever, he brings in his crap to you. You inventory it, take pictures etc.... now the longer the crap sits on ebay, the more you make in storage.. When Mr. smiths finally sells his whatever you contact him, let him know what the shipping costs are etc.. he approves, you shipp it, you bill him for your time and materials for shipping, most people don't have a clue on this, but your the expert. So, Mr. Smith has made $30 dollars on ebay, but hey you dont feel bad because now have a your 5x5 rented out till he dies and your making some side money on shipping and handling. Theres a ton of old people that want to sell stuff online but are scared etc.. Old people get excited when they get email, let alone sell crap on ebay, just a thought.

Hi, I checked go0gle's adwords for the keyword "southern california warehouse" there seems to be 590 monthly searches for this. Now am thinking this keyword is very targetted to what your dad's doing - maybe you should also rank your website for this keyword? or better yet make a keyword to domain website.....this seems to be available........... southerncalifornia-warehouse.com.

Because the monthly searches are low, you could easily rank for this keyword.

Just a few suggestions from a newb ehh.

To set up a CPA, all you do is basically have like a coupon, have a tracking number, and tell businesses you partner with that you will be tracking their results and paying them, or you could just set up a referral exchange...
