Hi, so I have this website and it ranks really well for one keyword, but it ranks for another word, which is basically a synonym of the first keyword, really bad. Would it help to make some posts about the weaker word and link back to the main page where the "strong" word ranks well? Whats the typcial practice there? Any advise would be appreciated!
...and just to add to that, the website I am talking about is spanish. so lets say the keyword is "helado de fresa", why are the rankings for "helado fresa" and "helado DE fresa" so different? I would think google would be smart enough to realize that its the same thing...
Possible reason why you aren't ranking for your second keyword : - No backlink created with that specific anchor - overoptimization - Either kw density or anchor density - Kw2 has a higher competition.
Keyword competition plays a major role here. Focus on building some quality backlinks with your targeted keyword and wait for the results.
Thanks for the responses. I am pretty sure it was because of the internal anchor texts of my page that cause overoptimization. I didnt really that was a thing. Thx!!
Don't add a post for the second page. This will possibly create competition for the already ranking post as now there are two of them from the same site. You can sprinkle some more of your second keyword in the post or make some backlinks using the second keyword as the anchor text. This should rank it as well.
