A learner driver was on course to pass her test - until the instructor's uninsured car was stopped by police.

The learner and examiner were pulled over during a driving test in Tile Cross, east Birmingham, on Saturday.

West Midlands Police checked the car and found it also had no MOT. They later seized the car.

The force's road policing unit said the student would have passed the test had it not been interrupted, as no mistakes had been recorded.

The driving examiner and student were taken back to the test centre, where the driving instructor was questioned by police.

The 46-year-old admitted knowing the car was not insured but denied knowing the car had no MOT, said police.

Police seized the car and took the driving instructors' badge.

She was reported to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency and will need to provide valid insurance and MOT documents to police at a later date.

    sigh, idiots everywhere.

I once overheard a conversation* between a girl and a friend where she admitted she had 50+ driving lessons (each being one and half hours long) and failed her test 8 times, but it was okay because daddy was paying for it all.

*we were walking the same way and I couldn't help but overhear this.

If someone has failed driving test 8 times they shouldn't be allowed to take the test again(at least not for a long time).

That reminds me of this story:
I don't know how much different the test is over in the UK, but in the US it's extremely easy, especially with an automatic transmission. You just turn a wheel, push some pedals, use your turn signals, glance at the mirrors, check your blind spots and you're done.
Yeah, everywhere except New Hampshire and Virginia.

The other exception is if your car is salvaged or registered as non-operational. I had an MG Midget 8 years ago that I was rebuilding and would drive around the block to test it (Err, not legally, but I needed to test it). So if it's on non-op, you don't need insurance, but you can't legally drive it anyway.

I thought somehow the cops would give her her passing test grade at the end. Was disappointed.

My daughter in law thought I was mean. When she became old enough to take drivers ed., I went out and bought her a car for when she got her license and paid the drivers ed fees. She failed. The next time I refused to pay the driver ed fees and made her work it off with chores. She failed. So she took drivers ed again, I refused to pay the fees or to allow her to work it off. Her mom paid the fee. When she failed drivers ed. the third time, I sold the car I had bought for her.

I passed first time, but because of a mixture of the roads and the people on them, the difficulty is increased.

I remember some documentary in the UK about some dumb cunt who had failed her test some ridiculous amount of times 40 odd or something, and she became somewhat of a z-list celebrity. And all I could think seeing this dumb cunt on TV was this thick bastard should be banned for life, not being glorified in some comical way. It is thick bastards like that who kill people.

Can only speak for germany, but there are definitely some crazy people on the Streets that you would think of "They are gonna crash any second".
Agreed. I also think that when you reach a certain age (+70) you should be forced to do Driving-Tests so they can assure you are still in condition to control a car.

It's only when you move away from the UK, do you really appreciate the wonder of ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition).

I mean, you couldn't make it up, could ya?

There was this one bloke (didn't catch the prick's name) on some celebrity jungle bullshit, he was wearing a £4K Rolex Submariner and he hadn't yet learnt to tell the time! I kid you not.

I'm pretty sure they act dumb as fuck for attention and "fame".

It's too coincidental that all these "dumb fucks" came out the closet after Jade Goody became famous for being a genuine dumb fuck. The only thing worse than these gormless cunts is the mugs who lap their shit up and keep them in the spotlight.

Makes you wonder just how dumbed down the UK is becoming.
