Hey guys. Ive got SB and I've been running it on a bootcamp partition of a 2GB ram MacBook Pro with a cracked version of XP.

It's really not that fast, sometimes it stalls especially because there is no good fan control program for bootcamp partitions (my current prog is a ram hog but w/o it I over heat). My fast poster speed is usually 12-18/sec (successful and failed combined), and I've got good private proxies.

Im in the market for a new desktop, which is ONLY to be used for SB so I can use my fast MAC and do scrapebox at the same time.

I was looking at barebones kits and custom desktops and I really don't know what's good? Obveously more is better, but what isbest for $300?

I planned on gettig a shit pc with a tricked out CPU and then upgrading RAM with crucial.com, but is it necessary?

Will a Intel Core 2 Duo do just fine instead of an Intel Quad or AMD Phenom II64? Also, how much ram? 4GB? 6? 8?

And all for under 3 Bennys?

    Thanks guys!!

I can't remember the thread but I saw someone mentioned that they run a few copies of SB on their Windows VPS here:

I'd rather not outsource something that can be easily done in-house like this)

Try looking for custom made PCs, skimp out on harddrive space, the video card, etc. so you can focus most of the money on the processor and ram for Scrapebox.

Does the 300 include a monitor or a legal copy of windows?

I would most likely go custom. Go with an AMD dual or quad to stay on the cheap side, am3 socket mobo with cheap integrated graphics, optical drive, small harddrive (don't go too cheap) and as much ram as you can get with what's left over.

Oh, and if you can afford it, setting up two small hdd's in raid0 wouldn't hurt.

k may I ask why the hell you would want to keep SB "in house" when you can get a way faster VPS for like 10-20 bucks a month, and like 1TB of bandwidth monthly.

All your gonna achieve is raping your internet connection and probably getting booted if you spam hard enough.

    Good luck bro.

Cuz my neighborhood is like crazy. The whole neighborhood runs off Fiber Optics from... Idk who, but it like having my own gigabit Ethernet and they cant trace me via ip (although by MAC address wouldn't be too hard).

So a dual processor is good enough? Like phenom x2 or core 2 duo?? Yea either 80 or 120GB (that is usually the lowest), integreTed intel graphics... The only part that gets me is the legit windows copy... It always adds about $100-$120 even with OEM and the pushs me over my limit, but if I base it off a dual core ad not quad maybe I can cheapen it up a bit.

    Thanks guys

Rent a VPS like everyone does, it will cost you a lot less, and it's simply better.
