Hey fellow blackhatters, I am starting some freelance writing and would like to hear some suggestions on a good way to start. I was a english major when I was in school, so I know I can get the job done. I just need to figure out what are the proper steps to get clients. Is there a ebook that can help or is there any warrior I should talk to? Just any suggestions on the best way to get start with my freelance writing. Thanks

This isn't warrior forum, we're much more badass ;)

To answer your question, you should start out working for freelance writing websites and once you become comfortable with workloads and time management. Then you could start your own service and not work for a third party company. But I think that experience will help you.

My fault about the "warrior" in the thread. No disrespect.... it was just a typo.

Suppose you find customers on freelance sites (vworker, elance)... If not, you should!

I agree with the others: start building up a resume using elance or something, then maybe make your own site showcasing your abilities/some of your jobs/whatever. As soon as you get enough experience you'll (probably) get some clients.

Build your own site and skip the working for elance and other shit. You need to get earning the most money possible right away! Get working on seo for the website, and advertise it everywhere (so many places to choose). Then just watch the orders come in, its that easy.

Start your writing service on free lance sites like fiver etc . Then when you have some good market experience then start your service thread here in BST section .

You can a try a different approach and begin with Fiverr. The payment might be less then what you could make on other places but it's relatively easy (much more easier if you are writing articles, your specialty from my understanding) to get work and to create a base of clients. I started on Fiverr doing programming work (definitely not worth it, working several hours for 4$) but I made a base of clients who offered me bigger projects (and better payed).
