Hey everyone! I am a full time youth soccer coach and I just broke my ankle. I've been a painter for some time now, and have accumulated enough paintings where I want to sell prints. I signed up for a smugmug account and uploaded them all, linked to it from my site. I also have a really small ebay store on there where I'm selling a bunch of old clothes and jerseys. I have no clue how to go about getting people to see them, let alone buy them.

    My website is Obilex(dot)com

I don't know how to seo very well, especially when the majority of my content are paintings. If somebody could give me some options or advice, help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Try to get in contact with interior designers. They might be interested in your art. Also you can try posting on real estate boards. People loking for new condos and houses also look for new deco.

As for SEO I would suggest adding descriptive text to each image. Possibly, it's a good idea to blog about your art and motivation.

Do you have a store on Etsy? Maybe create one on Etsy and use pinterest to promote it.

I tried Etsy with some prints, but it turned out to be too much of a hassle with the printing and shipping. Smugmug takes care of all that. Pinterest is a good idea though!

If any of the "old clothes and jerseys" are branded, and you can describe them with specificity, size, flaws, age, etc, try taking a few good pictures and putting them on craig's list. If they are in good condition, you can make some money.

You should make a Facebook page and that way you can get people to 'share' the pictures of your paintings. With paintings that strategy will almost work as direct advertising for free. Build up your page and then you'll have traffic, sales and a fan base.

An important thing to remember that you have relevant keywords that are likely to convert into a sale. I suggest you to go niche and specific, and target words that related to your services. Also, the speed of your website is very important. Google's page speed tool is free, and provides lots of great tips on how to improve the general speed of your site.

    Wish you all success!

Your paintings are very nice. If you want to drive traffic to your website, you could join in deviantart.com and share your works there. Then at every description, you could put something like "for more artworks, visit obilex.com"
Deviantart is a large community for artists.

That and use social media sites: tumblr, instagram, image sites.

Try to build a twitter/facebook account about them.

Maybe a yt channel regarding videos about what you do, how you do it.

    And forum posting :)
