Trying to change niche on my channel

Hi! What would you guys suggest if I wanted to change my channel niche from a certain content to something similar? The previous fanbase would likely still bring my CTR down so I was thinking an option would be unchecking the "Publish to subscription feed and notify subscribers", but I've never seriously used that setting before. Does anyone know how efficient it is? like if the video can still get recommended properly by yt on browse features?

How big is your current subscriber/fan base? If its fairly substantial and the change in content is pretty significant you run the risk of alienating the majority of your subscribers, resulting in very poor performance.

Have you thought of cross promotion? Create a new channel and promote it with your existing one? This way you are giving your current subscribers a choice.

I agree with OP no matter how big or small your audience is don't do this start a new channel and then promote it changing content will kill your channel since youtube itself will push your content to the same audience once your channel is set don't risk it.

I see, thanks a lot! The channel itself is kinda dead still, but it still has some browse impressions that it's being recommended to on the sub box, so I was hoping that option might help. I would still be using reddit & google ads to get in the right niche, the issue is the initial browse ctr

Try to improve quality or see what your competition is doing it happens but it'll grow back soon if you put effort into it .

I tried this once and no problem at all. You will lost few subs at first, but the new ones will come if u have great videos.
