Maybe some of you can relate to this...and maybe I can inspire some of you to do the same...

I run a business and it seems that lately it has taken over my entire life. I wake up, hit the gym and then it is work mode...even at night when I attempt to end the work day I find myself still answering emails, etc...all my email comes to my phone, so I found myself waking up a few times throughout the night checking emails out of habbit...it finally just occured to me that I need to balance work and a personal life away from work. I noticed that I LOVE the gym now, because it is 90 minutes that I have to myself, away from phone calls, emails, etc. A time where I can clear my head and think clearly. I need more of that...so for the first time in many, many, many years I am doing something...

Tonight when I go to sleep I am turning off my cell phone so I will not be distracted with emails, texts, calls...and when I wake up tomorrow I will not turn it on. I will not turn my computer on either. For the first time in a very long time I will have a WORK FREE SUNDAY!!!

I am going to wake up early, hit the gym as I enjoy, then go into the city....grab some luch and then catch a baseball game. Have a few beers, and just ENJOY LIFE!! My dad passed away a couple years ago after a battle with cancer. My best friend's dad was just rushed to the hospital this week and they found a tumor on his spine and had to perform emergency surgery and he is now paralized. Days earlier he was perfectly fine. Life is so short, and we never know when that time is up.

I am sorry if this is a rant, but for once I relaize that it isn't just all about the money. We sacrafice our time to make money....because in order to have time you need money. Vicious circle. Tomorrow I will enjoy life, and worry about business come Monday morning. Who knows, maybe this will be a good recharge and will give me some extra charge come Monday
:D

I hope this may inspire some of you to do the same. Have a great weekend everyone, and enjoy your life!!!:drinking2

Took the entire day off. Just turned my phone and email back on. It was AWESOME!!!! I suggest everyone do it once in a while! FULLY RECHARGED NOW!!!

You have hit upon something here.....I was in a similar space to you a few weeks ago and what you don't realize is that there is more benefit to be had having a few hours R&R then working yourself into an early grave. Your productivity is increased, your mood is better and you can think clearer thereby increasing your profits through better ideas and goals. Its a falsehood thinking you 'just don't have the time' - I now turn the computer off on Sundays and its the best tonic my business has had!

working everyday just because the money never sleeps is gonna get you down...
...and what do you earn that money for if you do not allow yourself to enjoy it then?!?

i won`t hurt you if you take (at least) a day off...
...even better - stop working on saturday. in the afternoon maybe.
relax, clear your head, enjoy something.
give yourself the feeling that you know why you are running a buisness.

if you do not get yourself in a position like that - it won`t be worth it in the long run.
if you follow the thought about "more work=more money" - then were will be the point you could ever quit and enjoy life?!?
it will never be - until life gives you the final roadblock.

relax from time to time to stay fresh...
...you are not doing it to be a slave to the green. it should work the other way around.

keep enjoying your days off dude!

A nice thread indeed... I actually switched the internet marketing, since I was so tired with receiving so many phone calls, emails and simply dealing with people too much...

Maybe you should rethink your earning/business model, and find out something where so much of a communication is not needed... (though it may bring less money - who cares?) Rich man has time.

Yeah, I will now do that every Sunday. it was the best feeling ever - to just enjoy the day with family and friends and enjoy life. My new Sunday mentality is "it can wait until Monday"

Thank you - I plan on enjoying more time off! :D

I just care so much, that I was "in the zone" 24/7. Sundays off with zero email/phone/internet is a great start! I loved it, as simple as that may sound.

sometimes you just have to protect yourself...
...from yourself.

humans tend to get a little "too ambitious"...
...no matter what subject.
