Right now I am using HTT*rack and FireB*ug to copy a landing page, with the intent of switching a few links around as you may guess.

I don't know how to use FB for this process, but maybe someone could help.

Yeah these tools should be what you need, if you never did this before.

I'm not familiar with the term "ripping" and only associate it with extracting data for a CD/DVD lol ... and I'm not familiar with the software you mentioned...

My assumption would be that you're trying to copy a certain webpage. I guess it's going to be something more technical like a server side script rather than static HTML otherwise you'd just copy the source code - but you may be experiencing problems extracting the server side source simply because the certain file has certain permissions in place - meaning, it's protected from people doing what you're attempting to do lol ! :)

Permissions are special numbers that are "CHMOD'd" - assigning what, when and how a certain program/script/person can access them. So, I'm just going to assume the files that you're trying to download from a server or whatever, for example a PHP script, have protective permissions assigned to them... :)

There isn't much around that unless you speak with a PHP/ASP expert! :)

    Hope that helps,
    Lynn.

Well, actually the site I was looking to copy was copied from another site, shown as an html comment. The first tool copies everything flawlessly, but I can't change anything without messing the page up...meaning things disappear.

    In this thread:http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/black-hat-seo/196484-how-rip-landing-page.html

I learned about the second tool there, but I am not sure where to go. I guess you could help if you are reading this, specopkirbs.
