Just trying to 'reality check' this. I have seen a couple times on International Living's email list, a course that sells for $179.00 claiming it's all so easy to make money doing travel videos and / or travel for free yadda yadda. Naturally my internal BS meter goes off.

Now here's the thing, I have travelled a fair bit and I'm going to the Canary Island again next month. And I am experienced and shooting and editing video. So I could easily create something but who's going to buy it?

Anyway, if anyone has experience in this niche it would just be great to get the real scoop, what's BS and what's legit etc. On the one hand I can see that hotels and resorts could use videos but the practical side of me thinks that if they wanted one they'd have one already.

You can shoot photos for travel magazines and site, not sure about videos (probably could sell those as well), but the easy part on the sales copy is nearly always bullshit in my opinion.

Google around, see if anyone has actually managed to sell videos they shot while travelling.

There are many people making money by traveling and vlogging, this is 2015, you can pretty much do anything you set your mind to.

I keep hearing about this too

From what I've read, you need to find SPECIFIC SPONSORS for you to travel for free.

Also, you need a number of them, not just one.

Finally, your best bet would be to travel to LOW COST countries so even if you don't get paid all that much, you can still make ENDS MEET.
