If I use Google Translator to translate an English article to a German article, then publish on my blog - wanna know if Google deems this as duplicate content?

Would Google see it as content just copied from the translated version of the original website?

Read the english article, understand it, google translate it, fix some mistakes in translation and you should be fine.

This is always a myth about this, many people claimed it is regarded as Duplicate, but no idea... Hope anyone had done this clear for us.

People have been doing this for years and years. I am not sure what the outcome has been for these guys.

More than duplicacy, you should be worried about the quality of the content. I don't think translated articles turn out well.

I haven't heard of such case. What I am most worried is for you to be a laughing stock when actual Germans read your work. I think that's where you'd have a problem.

Obviously I know the translated quality will be crap. (Perhaps I will hire someone to improve later), BUT I'm just asking about the theoretical aspect: will Google punish for an exact copy of it's Google Translate service?

Surely someone has tested this???

I’ve tested this but with manual translation done by me and everything was fine

It's works on info-sites (news), tested it on *.ru, *.ua domains.

If you create a version of your eng article in german lang, and if you correctly create lang metatags (hreflang) then Google will have no complaints.
He may have a claim because you made an automatic translate.
