So i transferred my scrapebox license to my laptop and since its been so long since i fresh installed i forgot to have the use proxies box checked. I would have realized this if i would have harvested blogs because it warns you but i was loading up a auto approve list so it never notified me, i shot out and found 2500 links, obviously with the same ip...every single one, lol, is this gonna hurt my site at all or can i re-post comments useing proxies now??

You commented on multiple blogs as the same ip. Google does not have any indication where these comments came from -- only those specific blogs do. You're fine in Google's eyes. The only thing is that your ISP could be notified by one of the blog owners about spam.

Oh ok I thought that would look like spam to google, lol I didn't realize the only reason we use proxies is so we fool our service provider, I thought it was so our multiple same comments an keywords weren't looked at as spam to google...Hmm learning new things all the time

Proxies are use to avoid spam detection... You may face problem with your ISP... Your IP may be notified as spam and could be blacklisted... Askimet may put your site and IP as spam... Just basic problems apart from that you are good to go....

    F**K!

I saw this thread and laughed (not in a bad way!) but just pinged RSS services over 20,000 times without proxies enabled! LOL!

    (how's that for karma...)

Anyone foresee any potential problems?

    Could've sword proxies were enabled...

The only problems with not using proxies is:

    1) Akismet
    2) ISP

    Breaking it down:
Akismet will pick up on your IP and blacklist it and potentially the URL(s) you were using. Only problem here, is that if your IP is blacklisted, your future posts will automatically be regarded as spam (and thus useless). Simple workaround: Use proxies, even if your IP is blacklisted, that is why SB has the 'IP Test'. If your money site gets blacklisted, buy a cheap random .info and 301 redirect it to your money site.

Your ISP may receive a spam complaint from any douche bag site owners out there for comment spam. While extremely unlikely (what owner is gonna take the time to report your IP of the hundreds of comments he probably gets daily). Your ISP will send you a letter asking you to stop, threatening to cancel your service, etc. If worst comes to worst, play the "I have unprotected wifi" card.

what cjw10 says. The risk that your ISP will do anything is close to none. I don't think any blogger will take the time to report it and even if they did you just have to blame the unprotected wifi. It is the akismet you have to care about but then again if you continue using proxies it wont matter if your own ip is banned from akismet.
