I am using dragon naturally speaking, and though it is really good, I need to scale this up. I saw a method before where a guy trained it to listen to audio tapes and cassettes and it wrote out the whole text for him. On Dragon Naturally speaking 11, one must read a specific story in order for it to get used to my voice. Any method where one can train Dragon Naturally speaking to record audio/video from others.

This is an interesting method for new content.. I'd be interested in finding a way to do this as well.

If we can sort this out, then we are on to a goldmine here. Think of it, go out for the day and let it record 300 youtube videos. Job done...

    This is quite interesting.

I saw an interview with the author Terry Pratchett on tv this week. He suffers from Alzheimer's and has quite a few associated problems.

He said he uses dragon naturally speaking BUT with some some other software on top called Talking point. It can be found at talkingpoint.uk.com apparently it makes using dragon naturally speaking ALOT easier, and helps perform tasks alot easier.

Well, you want to use DSN ver.11 which you can get here. This version makes fewer mistakes and boy do we want that.

I am checking out various softwares that will convert You Tube videos to text. It would be easy to read the transcribed text into DSN. You may want to look into this too.

Hardest part is finding quality videos where they articulate well. So many begin with something like, "Hey, what's up Dude?" Some go so fast you would never be able to take notes.

He is obviously giving a workshop to school teachers which appeals to me since I've sat through tons of those.

    LMAO! Good one.

Seriously, YouTube uses Google transcribe audio (beta) somehow for voice recognition. It can be pretty good or it can be horrible. Try the [cc] button on some links. Not sure if there's an API or something for it yet?
