If I want to start a WP site and build traffic to flip it.

Say I want to make $500, is getting the traffic to flip it for that hard to get?

I have made all the money I can with writing and want to get into IM.

Just wondering if this, as a starter, is something I could pull off?

    Thanks,

If yoo want to get traffic to it and you are good at writing the obvious choice would be article marketing although you would have to write a lot of articles or get them ranked highly on the article directory.

Well one reason I am starting this is to practice a lot of different SEO methods.
I mean, I was just wondering .. is it tough to get enough traffic to a site to flip it for a decent amount ($300-$500).

I know it takes work and all, but what is the difficult for someone new at it?

Considering that you can sell a site on average for about 6-12 months it's worth, you are looking at having a site that consistently generates about $10-17/day.

You could do that fairly easily if you go after targeted traffic.

Yukinari84 is right IF you're selling your site at DP where people use silly formulas based on either revenue or pagerank to value web sites.

If you're planning to sell in other markets, like Flippa for example, you can do a lot better and won't necessarily need to have any profits attached to the site to reach your $300 to $500 target.

Traffic is a good way to add value to your site, so is automation (the less updating and upkeep required of the buyer the better), so is having a nice layout/design that a buyer can see will appeal to visitors, so is ranking in SERPs for decent keywords (even if they don't have lots of traffic it shows the site CAN potentially rank for good keywords)...the list goes on and on.

Also, a lot of it will depend on your ability to "sell" the site's value and potential as an asset to prospective buyers.

Every day I see brand new autoblogs sell on Flippa that have over $100 worth of plugins and premium themes attached to them for a price of under $80, and at the same time there are brand new autoblogs with all free plugins and themes that will sell for close to $200 and the only real differences between them is niche/market/category and the seller's presentation.

So basically, ask yourself what would entice you to pay $300 to $500 for a site, and then build that site to sell it, and make sure you highlight the key features or selling points that you've built into it in your presentation.

    Good luck.
