Traffic for forwarded urls?! - Appreciate some help

Getting traffic to a forwarded url is really a pain in the a**.

I could easily get 1000s of uniques to a website but I can't get even get a mere 100 uniques daily to this forwarded url.

You can't even do SEO, social bookmarking etc... You can always write articles but that gets boring...

Can you guys give some some tips on getting TARGETED traffic to a FORWARDED URL??
...cause I'm totally blank here... :/
