The name i want on youtube is taken but its my company name and nobody is using it and it hasnt been touched for years, the only way to get it is to file for a trademark but what kind of trademark would i need to qualify in getting that name?

Have a look at cease and desist, and dmca takedown request.
The problem that you'll have is even if you succeed, its not like they are going to delete it on monday, and then you just register it tuesday. It might be siting in a dormant state for weeks or months before you can register it again.

Failing that approach, just stick a suffix like "online" at the end or something else that might be relevant. Maybe even the generic work that your company does would be better, rather than your actual name, and you can just name drop your logo in videos and description.

Example. "Joes banana's company" would be better of as "banana videos."

If you do not want to send a C&D or DMCA yourself, I would suggest you check out Trademarkia. They have a cheap service to send DMCA's / C&D's to all major social media websites on the net. You have to have a registered trademark though.
