Tracking ranking without webmaster tools?

    The cd parameter is not always present but when it is, you can find it in your server logs. I never use GA because it never shows you exact stuff, just some stupid averages.

    If you get the position from the log you can also see the date and time for each visitor, if he bounced, how many (and which) pages he visited if he didn't bounce, you can even see if his ISP is something exclusive.

    All this info and more just sits and waits to be harvested from you very own server logs. By using GA you are giving it away for free and we all know how much consumer info costs nowadays.
