I know we all have our money goals. I have a certain goal that I want to reach and it involves affording to track down a relatives car, repair it, and give it to him. He came into despair years ago and had to sell his prized possession. I have asked him if he has any idea who bought it and he has no clue.

How would I go about tracking this car down? The car is about 40 years old. Is there a way to do some sort of VIN search?

    Thanks

If he had the title in his nam at one point in time he should have the vin # somewhere.

Doing a carfax on it would probaly narrow down the location, and possibly list some service statiosn you could call and ask if they rember it(if it as a car that stood out)

I doubt the DMV would give out that info

Well you could check for license plate in traffic department. if the owner hasn't changed it yet.
