Hey guys, I am sure we would all agree that "Lingerie" is probably a tough KW with companies like Fredricks and Victorias Secret and macy's all on page 1.

    So how is
    Code:
    spicylingerie.com
    the #1 result?

I have one of those SEO toolbars (seoquake)on my browser and can see it is an aged domain so that makes sense. But it has only around 2k backlinks a KW density of less than half of a % for the term lingerie. In addition, when I look at the site in firefox the site itself looks kinda busted up especially across the top header portion of the site.

Here is some of their On site SEO
    Any thoughts?

It`s a 10-year-old domain...you can mess around with such domain with things like keyword stuffing w/o getting penalized by the big G.

My guess is that the site is ranking high cause of the 301 redirect from a powerful domain.

Go for a easier long tail keyword. When you start ranking for a lot of long-tail keywords with low/medium competition, you can start targeting the short tail keywords with higher competition..

Oh for sure, the only reason I searched that term is I was ordering a logo so I was tryng to give the guy some examples of logos from similar niches. I was SHOCKED when I saw this site pop #1 over some retail giants, 10 yr old domain or not.

Just because you see 2,000 links doesn't mean that's all there are. They could be utilizing a number of 301 domains and powering those up with tons of links. Also, keep in mind the 2,000 links yours seeing are only first tier links so they could have millions of 2nd , 3rd, and so on tier links.

I have some domains with "10" (visible links) ranking number one. :p ;)

Hiding your backlinks is an SEO Strategy in itself.
