Try creating a site map and signing up for Google Webmaster tools. it's possible to ping your pages but it would take a long time unless you spread it out accross multiple servers

just be careful or big G would consider it as spam
ping your site slowly and submit it to social bookmarkings

Just one curious little question: If OP has a really long pinglist (say > 500 items in the list). Will big G find this too as spam and sand box him ? As he is pinging 20k pages of this site to all ping items.

Where are you getting the number of indexed urls from? I understand that the site: operator in goog has not been working correctly for a long time.

Just a reminder that it would take a long, long, long time to ping 20K pages...

I don't think the ping list is an issue. It's not like you're pining the same URL 500 times.

But here are some reasons why a big site wouldn't have many of it's pages indexed:

    1. The number of links that have to be followed to reach that page via the site's internal link structure is too high from the page where the spider enters the site. In other words, if the spider enters your site on Page 1 and has to visit 4 or 5 other pages on your site to find a link to Page 7 then it may be too deep of a link structure.

    2. The page titles are not unique. This is one way Google will consider different pages to be duplicate and will either not index them at all or put them in the supplemental index where they will be used as a statistical factor and not for search results.

    3. No backlinks to the other pages. Having off-site backlinks to internal pages that are deeply linked will help them (and the pages they link to) get crawled as they will create a deep entry point for the spider.

    4. Not enough content or unique content on pages.

    5. Your site in general doesn't have enough backlinks or traffic to warrant spending the time it takes to crawl all the pages. Googlebot only allows itself to spend but so much time indexing a site. If Google doesn't feel your site is popular enough, this will reduce the amount of time it will spend indexing as well as how often it indexes.

    6. The pages take too long to load. Try optimizing the HTML and time it takes the server to generate and deliver the page.

you need all sites indexed for success?
focus on the primary sites first.
