I'm a musician, trying to promote my website.

The name of my band is the same as my username,"teardropcity" and my website is a dot com.

I spell the name all as one word "teardropcity", as a stylistic choice,
however a lot of other people spell it as "teardrop city" or "tear drop city"

So when a Google search is done for "teardropcity" my site comes up right away. But it does not come up right away when searching "teardrop city" or "tear drop city"
What can be done to get those searches to come up with my wesbite?

    Ok thanks.
I have no experience with this type of thing, so would my best bet initially be to use a service for backlinking? I see some of these types of things offered in the "services for sale" part of the site.

When you are new at Seo, better do it yourself. Learn how it works and then buy later.
There are so many "bad guys" they sell you sh*t.

The best way is you build quality Content and get a lot of quality Backlinks. Quality Backlinks means that the Links come from Sites with your Niche and that the Site have no Spam on it.

    Regards

Ok, my next question would be how to do I go about getting these backlinks myself?

I am totally new to this, so I don't know the protocol.

Search for your Niche at Google: (niche)---> "landscaping" forum
something like that. Learning by doing.

When you have a lot of Backlinks than you can use a bot.

I wouldn't suggest buying Scrapebox yet as you wouldn't know the purpose of what you're doing. And what you need to be doing is building links, like the people before me said. A link to your site is - this almost feels like a cliche to say - a "vote" for your site. It's like retweeting something on Twitter or liking it on Facebook. It just tells Google that someone thinks your site is noteworthy. There are many other factors that go into this, but those are the basics.

I would recommend finding a few forums you actually enjoy posting on and putting a link to your site in your signature. If you join a diverse, popular, and friendly music forum, it will be easier and more comfortable for you to post, meaning you'll post faster and build backlinks more efficiently.

I myself focus on two forums, with about a combined total of 2300 posts, all of which have my signature with backlinks attached to them. Google Webmasters shows about 1000 of those being indexed and pointing to my site, and it really helps out a ton in my rankings.

To diversify, you can also find blogs related to music. So you can search "music blog," "guitar lesson blog," etc. I recommend posting relevant and quality comments on various posts in the blog. Luckily, you are promoting your band's name, so when asked to input your name for the comment, you can use your variations on "teardropcity." This will be linked to your website.

And that kind of commenting leads us into Scrapebox. It is a tool that basically automates the blog commenting process. It lets you search Google and other search engines for blogs in your niche, then comment on them. You can comment on them manually to continue to post quality comments. However, most of us just use it to post generic "spam" comments on blogs and use our keywords as the author name for the comment. When you think you're ready for the $57 investment, you can head to http://www.scrapebox.com/bhw to pick it up.

Read up on both the white hat and black hat SEO sections. In white hat, you'll learn the basics of general SEO, plus some more advanced "legitimate" and "non-spam" methods of search engine marketing. In the black hat section, you'll learn about the methods and tools people use to aggressively push sites up the search engines in a more unorthodox manner.

    Hello fellow musician,

Yeah I would go and join a few forums and put the address in you're signiture. Post a few comments and try and get people interested. If it's a popular forum google will pick up you're link pretty quick.

Oh and if you have not already. And want the blogger domain to show in google.

Go into you're blogger account / design / edit html

Scroll down a little bit an search for the meta content keywords and be sure that you have them there. Like so..
<meta content='teardropcity, teardrop city, tear drop city,' name='Keywords'/>

And also do the same with the keywords for you're main domain.

    Good luck
