Its not because they are using up all the bandwidth because bitmeter shows no activity and still nothing else works when the torrent programs open. As soon as they open the connection could be totally clear and yet they clog up the whole pipe blocking internet and browser access.

I tried taking down how much bandwidth the program is allowed but to no avail.

Tried both utorrent and qbittorrent and the same thing.

    Any solution for this?

Update your router's firmware and try again, happens to old firmwares all the time, common problem.

Limiting the upload/download speed won't stop this problem as the bottleneck is caused by total number of open connections/threads in the software.

Try reducing "Max connections per torrent default" and "Max connections globally" and "Max seeds per torrent"

    That will fix the issue(hopefully)

Vuze did the trick for me, tho i dont like the interface and the cpu usage compared to the previous ones its a 'lesser evil' :p.

Might try the connection trick on the other programs at some point.
