I like to be organized and found out that the more organized you are, the better optimizer you can become. That said, I would like to share the following with you.

The best tools for finding prospective citations, as well as researching old citations in my opinion are:

    - Getlisted.org
    - Yext Local Search Scorecard
    - Whitespark Local Citation Finder
    - Bright Local Local SEO Check-Up and Citation Tracker
    - Getmelisted.net (SweetIQ.com)

    http://www.ngsmarketing.com/local-citation-building-tools/

    For tracking the best are:

    - Bright Local Citation Tracker
    - Whitespark Local Citation Finder

Stay on track and keep logs, it's good for client reporting and a great reference for you to see what has been done, where it has been done, and reference back at any time !

Please hit the THANKS and REP button if you feel this helped you somewhat.

    :)

I personally have great luck with Google Places Scout. There's a lot of citations that whitespark says I'm missing when I can clearly see it's there.

I use Google Scout too. But wish to thank the OP for sharing. Many times marketers in the rush to auto-redundant work we fail sometimes to take the time to explore other tools if due only to the fact with success we perceive what we are doing as "working" by self evidence and sometimes let "additional" tools or even insights slip by rather then occur by occassionally stepping out of our routine to take a peek.

    I'm going to take a peek ;)

    Cheers
