I'm looking for a tool (or website) that can test if a proxy can connect to a site. I know that there are several paid tools that can do this, but i;m looking for a free one. i don't need to check thousands of proxys, but maybe 10/day.
Also i know that there are several sites that offer proxy checking, but i don't know any that can see if a proxy can connect to a website.

if you have AMR, it has a built in proxy checker in the latest release which checks if proxies can access a website you specify afaik.

If a proxy works, it will always connect to a site as long as that site is up and running. Now, if you want to check if the proxy has been banned by that site (Google, Facebook, Yahoo etc. temp-ban proxies), then that's a different story. You will need to know beforehand what happens if the proxy is banned - for instance, Yahoo will return error 999 (if I remember correctly), Google will probably redirect to a page with Capthca and so on....

Once you figure out exactly what you need, post in the Programming forum and see if someone can code this for you - it isn't that complicated

I believe what you really want is to test if those proxies are working all right for that specific site. You can always write a simple script to do this.
Charon is free and very powerful, but you need some time to figure out the settings:
