Well, besides seeing too many BH rising up, many of them are just a re-direct; no content, nothing.

I can also see changes happening so fast, meaning in a day we run a few checks, and different results a day..
So in the morning im number 5, afternoon im 8, then evening im 6... day after im 10 !! (this is mostlyhappening mostly for the last week)

this is all happening since the 17th of last month.. and i can only see things get worse.
Authority websites are declining and some bullshit ones are ranking..

    What should we do ?!

I have seen a fluctuation in SERP for most of my clients. But its not as much as you stated in the post. May be Google updating something ...Keeping my fingers crossed.

I think you shouldn't count on google/seo anymore. When you have a business, it's betterto be all rounded, i mean you get traffic from social media, email list, ppc ads, etc etc. It's weak when you count only on something.

Obviously its not only about seo..
but when you work in gray niches, you cant use PPC, social media wont help you...

when im getting 10k clicks a day from seo.. you bet im gonna count on it..
than when im going down.. its fail time.

They are testing, testing and again testing. This is how can be explained the new websites which appear from nowhere to first 3 places and other strange movements. My BET is they will never be able to make the results as they want. Until that moment, we need to see how we can still have traffic and make money.

Yup. SERPs have definitely been weird this week. MozCast.com temperatures have been up a little bit as of Monday.

My site dropped to page 2 for a competitive niche so there is definitely some large changes at work.

Serps for me have been crazy the last month. I have this micro weight loss website that is of low quality, shitty backlinks and it never ranked anywhere for its keywords (keywords like how to lose weight fast, you know them.) The last few weeks this website has gotten some visitors from very competitive keywords and I haven't done anything to the website in MONTHS. Crazy if you ask me...

I saw it happen to my sites and simply added small content or reworded some info and it got me to jump up in the search ranks from 15 to a consistent 4 spot now. Maybe Big G is looking for new content.

I do not think its content. My main website has 2k+ posts, and added daily by UK native writers.. few types of blogs, main articles etc...

I think Google is cooking something. I noticed some ugly title tags on search like if you search the word "This Brand" normally you will see on the SERPS is "This Brand" then followed by the meta description.. But today if you search "this brand" it will show "This Brand:The Best Brand In USA".

The OP is talking about SEO though, so that's what this thread is about.
Diversification of traffic sources is fine, but maybe start a new thread with some constructive traffic diversification ideas/questions?

    :)

Seen really commercial pages with twitter updates (140 characters of nothing) facebook updates, 3 Youtube videos and a forum thread all ranking ahead of aged sites full of really good content on the same subject. Last 3 weeks Google has been ranking some utter shit for comercial terms. Much of the suff is 100% not relavent to the search term or is so marginal as to be a waste of space.

Almost like Google rolled back to 2002 algorithm where META tags and keyword spamming in a new site was all it took to rank.
    Don't expect it to last.

"Shuffling a pack of cards leads to hundreds of variations before the point where the dealer stops to deal hand"

That's probably the process we are in now. Some state of flux during a big shuffle.
I'm guessing it's both onsite and offsite social factors this time - in particular a rebalancing of the weighting given to social signals.
This has been on the cards for 6 months or more.
Google seems to have been giving the weight normally associagted with permanent links with social signal links. Now - on re-evaluation, many of those URL's no longer have these links as the temporary nature of most social signals take place.
I also think the value of "burst" linking is being levelled - another change that's been on the cards since Penguin.

Constantly experiencing fluctuation in rankings. Nothing is the way it used to be. I see fluctuation in sites and none in others, it seems random and i can't explain it. It is quite frustrating.

One thing i have noticed is that most of the top 7-10 serps have been taken over by big brands, leaving very little room for the little smaller businesses.

I honestly don't understand the fluctuation.

What is happening online is much the same as having a new Wal-Mart come to town. They suck the life out of smaller retailers and push them out of the market. It's terrible to say, but I see the same shift in the dominance of big brands in search as you are seeing.
