Too Much Bullshit In SEO Not Enough Common Sense!.. Y U Complicate Dis?
Through my time here and through dealing with clients outside of BHW, I've come across this scenario all the fucking time.. seriously how much people complicate SEO is ridiculous and really uncalled for, sometimes I think these agencies are building ships for NASA rather than building back links to peoples sites.. I want to quickly go through some of my thoughts and opinions on this ongoing problem..
First up onsite SEO.. The first aspect which people are over complicating, they are either over doing it by stuffing their keywords in everything and anywhere they can or not doing enough of it, Onsite is probably one of the most important ranking factors currently I shit you not.. I've seen keywords just jump to the first and second pages by performing proper onsite SEO or editing some poor onsite, get this right before you even begin to build links or you will pay for it on down the road believe me. Learn how to use clever titles and tags don't spam your keywords all over your site instead slip them in naturally as if you're not even trying to but at the same time still are getting them in.. proper onsite will allow Google to read what keywords you're site is about, that combined with clever anchors (explained below) is the way to go these days.
Anchors... god this one is one my biggest hates, people seriously over complicate this to a huge degree, it's % this % that.. fuccck off seriously, again I go back to looking natural.. right now I hardly build any actual anchors with my keywords I want to rank, instead I'm building a huge mixture of lsi keywords and creative generic anchors.. none of your usual "click here" "this link" lazy ass crap I mean every SEO and his dog is already doing this - Google isn't stupid so don't treat them like they are.. take the time to get creative with your anchors, it all comes back to looking natural. Like I mentioned in onsite I get creative with the titles onsite.. this is what I rely on for Google to determine the keywords we're targeting not my anchors! NATURAAAL
The Gurus & Snake Oil Sales Men
Gurus and their magic potions - These clowns are half the damn problem and why people are over complicating things, please do yourself a favor and ignore the dung that these muppits procrastinate on a daily basis, these guys are snake oil sales men they are not there to help you.. they are there to help themselves! and all to often they are giving outdated advice (which they probably ripped from old threads here) ffs which at best will set you back months and at worst get your site slapped into oblivion. They are very easy to spot to people with real eyes but sadly not so easy for the new guys to the scene.. unfortunately there has been an influx of them here on BHW over the past year or so, I guess its the price we pay now that BHW has gone more main steam, gone are the good old days when we could rip these turd burglars a new asshole publicly.. which is sad as it's the noobs here that these clowns are sucking in and robbing blind.
SAPE Resellers.. I was the first guy to bring SAPE to the English markets almost 3 years ago now, I got a heap of flack for this back then especially from the Russians, it was just a whisper here and on other forums from people in the know that could access it... Since then heaps of guys have also begun selling when they seen us doing so well and that's all good some of them provide excellent services and are legit in what they tell their clients.. the problem is the ones who are not legit, re-branding and re-branding all the time labeling the same old SAPE links as some "magical hidden network from mars or venus" or some other bullshit - Avoid these clowns like the plague they are only out to take your money with the next shiny bright object.. it's sad so many noobs fall for their crap - instead look for the sellers that have been around for a long time and not had to shut to re-brand. If it looks like SAPE, smells like SAPE and tastes like SAPE then you can bet your ass its SAPE - ask them if they are rented footer or sidebar links and if the answer is yes then it's SAPE or one of the other similar Russian networks which pretty much have the same pool of sites as SAPE does anyway. Over complicating and lying about what is being sold is a big problem here and on other market places, be aware of it and call it out when you see it.. You might not gain any fans (I know all about it) but fuck um!
Also another pet hate of mine Pyramid this, link wheel that... I mean dafuck is this shit, what year is it again? These plus others are prime examples of SEOs or sales men over complicating things or trying to add a big red shiny bow to a piece of crap - you're fooling no one! Think of it this way if your site is naturally getting links to it do you think they are going to be appearing in some sort of mystic shaped pyramid form and better still the same form type for 100s of other webmasters.. errrm Red Flag anyone? Keep it simple amigos don't over complicate this as there really is no need too.
Keep It Simple, Keep It Private.. Keep it tight!
PBN - Get yourself one! Build it, maintain it and most importantly keep it PRIVATE - it will be your saving light and worth all the effort you put into it.. keep it private and make sure it is niche relevant, again no need to complicate things here either.. back to thinking naturally - how would this blog look and act normally without my interaction? What authority sites would blogs in this niche be linking out to naturally? Use your brain folks it really is just common sense.
I guess the best bit of advice I can give is avoid anyone offering anything "secret or hidden" I mean it's simple really if it sounds to good to be true then it usually is! Also think along the lines of "would this happen naturally?" a web 2.0 with favillion tier 2 links pointing to it then would certainly not happen naturally.. A high quality web 2.0 with video, graphics and a few pages.. with then a few social shares and minimal links pointing to it could deffos happen naturally.. understand? Don't get me wrong here guys I know the former methods of link building works as I play a lot on the darker side as most of you here will know and I'm a big fan of parasite ranking where pretty much anything gos.. but I'm talking here about long term - for long term you need to be looking natural, you need to be mimicking what would happen naturally and you need to be avoiding bullshit over complicated nonsense.
SEO isn't hard to grasp or understand when you begin to look at it in this way.. natural links, natural shares, minimal but high quality and for goodness sake forget about the 1000s of tier 2 junk - as I said do you think this would be occurring naturally? If in doubt with your answer then it's probably a no! Good onsite and good quality links there is not much more to it than that.
So yeah this is just some thoughts that have been doing the rounds in my head recently, there is so much misinformation, flat out lies and garbage out there at the moment it sometimes makes my head spin so I need to vent at times or I'll explode..
Until next time
