I have tried alsorts of things to promote my websites over the years, from Backlinks, Multiple Twitter accounts, Videos that get booted off Youtube, to paying for Fiverr services, and paying on numerous occasions for banner advertising on so called "High Traffic" sites, and nothing seems to work. Grrrr
My main problem is, I'm too busy in my day job, and don't have much spare time for anything else.

    So the question is,...

What 3 things would you concentrate the most on..? ;)

My advice is to pick one method and stick with it
do a little work on it each evening
    til you start seeing results
    test and adapt
    eventually you will succeed

We all make time for what is important to us. Either make the time to manage your site, or buy a site and pay someone to manage it.

Outsource could be the best option but before than you need to test it manually.

Time and money are sometimes interchangeable. So if you don't have time, but you have money; use the money to leverage time.

Use the money from your day job to outsource the work. Focus on only a few projects at a time and monitor which one is working. Once you find it, dump 80% of your resource into scaling it while you use 20% of your resources to find other methods for diversity.

The 3 things you should focus on are probably:
    1) Educating yourself and expanding your knowledge of SEO
    2) Outsourcing
    3) Monitoring results and testing

try to concentrate on one method then analyse does it work does it not give it a few month as well record the results. Dont give up either and put 15 minutes away a day for doing that method. if it all dosn't work its time to try again. i would not do three if you havnt got much time. I worked on one of my facebook methods and it took about 2 month to really start showing results.

in fact, how you outsource your work highly depend on your budget and your earning as well as your knowledgae to SEO.

If you are quite skillful, it would recomend you to hire a VA, 250-300USD a month.

If you are theoratically knowledgea about SEO but not much experience, i would suggest to hire a SEO sellers.

It is actually all about your current situation, with that little info you gave we can't give better answers.

You have a job so you have money to outsource - use it wisely. Make a plan: WHY do you want to rank a site? How will it make money? Make sure you've got your keywords and on-page elements tight before outsourcing link services (perhaps outsource the on-page too if you don't feel strong in that area!).

If you have money, are a strategist by nature, and know how to manage people, you will be earning thousands before the end of the year. Good luck.

I'll give you one idea that has kept my money flowing with or without google penalties. Offer a free "report" of something related to your niche if a visitor signs up to the weekly/bi weekly newsletter. Blast every visitor with the entry popup and exit popup for the free download (Put it on every website you own). In each newsletter, give them some details but provide a link to the meat of the news at your "blog"... There you will pound them with adsense ads/amazon/clickbank links/or your own product. In time your list income should exceed your regular traffic income and your newsletter blog may even begin to rank on it's own. You can easily mine $1000's a year with a small list and some thought. One more thing, once you get 4-5 newsletter articles, start putting a bulleted list of them inside each newsletter. People will click on old articles.

    1. Check your keywords if they are worth the payout!
    2. Find as many relevant keywords to you main keyword and pick the best ones to include to your keyword arsenal!
    3. Check your Top 10 competitors and see what are they doing, what keywords they are also targeting and how strong their website is compared to yours!

Lastly, decide if you can outrank them if you add some HR links to your website. Calculate your ROI if you include the HR links.

If you anticipate a good ROI, then wait no more!
