I remember everyone telling me on 9/10/01 that tomorrow would be the 9-11 day. "emergency phone number in the US for those that don't know" And look what happened.

God I hope something like that doesn't happen again lol.

Actually.. while doing some research I just noticed something...

This date already happened last month.. it was July 8th 2009... not Aug. 7th

    7/08/09 is July 8th 2009

    8/07/09 is Aug. 7th 2009

The first number in the sequence is always the month, not the day... So this date already happened last month guys..

Interesting.. I never really noticed the difference on that with different things.. some people do the day first, some do the month.. weird

Anyway.. these sites also confirm that this was on July 8th..

Trust me..It messes with my brain. My open office does it with MM/DD/YYYY, while I've always been used to DD/MM/YYYY. I think it really comes down to where in the world you are. Where I am it's DD/MM/YYYY ...Where I've lived it was the same format.

Whenever I'm confused what to write I do say July 8th 2009 just to clarify

That's because we're in the rest of the world the Americans like to do things
different for some reason like putting US at the top of a scroll down list and
you have to scroll way down the list to find UK which in all sense of reason
    should come before US.

    lol.. so true

Although I have noticed lately that a lot more of those lists have the US back down in the the right order instead of at the top. They must be getting more international friendly.

We in the UK had that special moment today at 12:thirty four:56. In the US the month/date are reversed so yeah it's all so last month for you guys :p

Kinda reminds me - at work I had to do a patch recently because one of our customers had installed their SQL server using US settings rather than UK and then set up all their other servers using UK format so the inconsistency broke a few things. Now every time the software writes to the db it has to explicitly say "this date is in this format" so there's no confusion. Customer wasn't happy that his software only worked for the first 12 days of every month before I did that change. Next people will be complaining about the "u" in colour...

(Edited to change 34 in thirty four because : 3 4 : caused a clapping emoticon!)

So if certain parts of the world have it as mm/dd/yy and others dd/mm/yy seems to me it makes it a pretty arbitrary happening anyway.

Can't say it fucking matters at all...but I'm in a ratty mood today.

    just think...

on SEPTEMBER 9th 2009 there will be a moment when it will be
    09: 09 : 09 09/09/09 as in 9 minutes and 9 seconds after 9 on the 9th day of the 9th month in 2009...

    and in OCTOBER 2010...

    10: 10: 10 10/10/10...

    Add in Nov 2011

    and

DEC 2012 and the SAME phenomona happens...
