So I am creating a niche specific product that is going to "whitehat" stuff.

But I want to have an upsell to a "blackhat" product with information about spinning, copying and all that kind of stuff.

Well this niche is pretty tight and most people know of eachother with information and such.

Now because of the blackhat item would have stuff about basically jacking other peoples things and spamming should I create the product under a covername? or should I just go about it as its my version of blackhat?

Im sceptical about using my own name because i am personally in this niche and dont want to be looked at as someone who is jacking others stuff?

Thoughts?

The question is are you "jacking" other peoples products? I would say keep your name and do not just "copy and paste" those blackhat information. Reputation is a key factor when you're trying to sell something. You might as well start building your rep now.

no im not copying peoples black hat information.

Im in the fitness industry and creating a product on traffic, seo and such for fitness industry. Now I use some blackhat stuff for mine such as jacking and rewriting press release, articles and such.

I would put this information in the blackhat version... But I dont want to exactly say my name as the writer and the person jacking peoples articles, pr, and spamming search engines.

Hopefully that makes sense?

Hi

I apologize but I still don't see why you wouldn't want your name in there.

Anyway I guess you should go with whichever you're comfortable with. The rich jerk got away with it so I guess you can do it as well.

I'm just saying if you're planning to sell information more than once, you might as well use your real name. In that way you also sell yourself, knowledge wise and you get to have repeat customers.

Just my 2 cents.

alright thanks.

Its definetly something I will be thinking about as I finish this project.

In this particular case I would use your real name because the up-sell blackhat version is tightly related to your main product. It makes you even look like a bigger expert.

Why not use a cover name, or pen name, for your whitehat ebook and then in all future projects? That way, not only do you not get your personal self involved if something goes wrong, but you also build your rep under that pen name.

I like that idea of doing a full time pen name.

How do you suppose youd really build your rep under than pen name + with like photos and stuff like that of "me"?
