To Unfollow Or Not Unfollow

In the past 2 weeks I've started using IGFL with a new account and an aged account. They both grew decently the first few days, but as soon as the unfollow kicks in after 3 days then the likes dropped dramatically.

What causes this? Should I not unfollow until I get to 7.5k? Or just go with the slower growth and keep my ratios good?

EDIT: Also, what kind of comments do you leave?

You're always going to get a lot of likes when you're mass following, because people are going to your page immediately after you follow them, to check out your pictures. When you're in the unfollow stage, you're not going to have that same flood of people liking your pictures because you haven't recently followed anyone. Hope that makes sense to you. Your likes will pick up again once you're in the follow stage again.
 
So I've been following, unfollow, liking, each day. Is that bad or should I switch off between what I do?

that would be a good idea to keep a healthy ratio, leave a few days for the follow back, but not too much, because there's no point in waiting for more, not only there will be less and less ppl who follow you back, but those people are not active enough to "deserve" to be your follower, you don't need them, you need ppl who's active on ig, who check their acc often, so they can actively like, interact with your content

i think the tactic is good what you're following, however i'm not quite sure, if i understand your thread starter post, if you're doing the different tasks (following/liking/unfollowing) simultaneously, why would you receive less likes at any point? it doesn't make any sense unless you unfollow the mutual followers too lol
 
I'm not sure? I don't unfollow people following me.

But I ran the same settings for 4 or so days and once it starts to unfollow the growth slowed a lot lol

but do you mix the tasks/run them simultaneously aka you follow ppl while unfollowing others (this would be a more natural behaviour) or do you wait for one task (unfollowing) to finish and just after that starting the other one (following)? because if it's the latter, you can find the explanation in the 2nd post above

I mix them up, follow a few, like a few, unfollow, etc.
 
I'm not a fan of using the unfollow function.

I mostly comment/like and this gives me a good amount of followers per day. Granted, I'm in an active niche (lots of users), tweaked my custom scraping and know the best times to run my bot.

Just my 2cents.

Tweaking scraping is the key here. Takes many hours to get it right. I'm still working on mine.

Are you scraping for KW's or scraping followers of users you like?

So you don't follow at all?

How does simple using likes and comments get you followers?
 
I don't follow either. Just like and comments. Granted I don't get mass followers gain, but I am not getting followers in the blind.
Generate quality comments and they will follow you.
 
By my practice i don't unfollow anyone no matter is there 100 or 100k :)

Quality comments. This is where you need to sit down and think about your audience. Write up unique comments and spin it.

1, 2 words comments just don't cut it anymore.
