I have a Hostgator Level 3 VPS account and I am wondering if I should host two client websites on it or not or have them get their own hosting. The traffic to these websites will be minimal so shared hosting if more than enough for them. If I host it, how much do you guys normally charge for web hosting?

Give them an affiliate link to sign up under.
You'll get $160 for the two of them and won't have to
    deal with support issues.

Level 3 vps should be able to hold some 20-30 website based on resource usage its subjective

However rather then buying shared hosting host them on vps you own

I was thinking about this, but I believe Hostgator provides manage support for you clients if they sign up under your reseller plan. But yes, I can still see the client contacting me with issues.

Should I choose to host it on my VPS, how much do you think I should charge? I'm thinking $10-15 a month.

OP I think what you have to determine is if $10-15/month enough to host their website and support. Clearly the space on your VPS would be no problem but the support can be tedious if the client constantly choses to request it. Personally I would do more, over $20, and you can justify by daily/weekly backups and maintenance issues with any files.

As stated before, even if you did give aff links, the client would still come to you for support and at that point, if you are still assisting them, is your time worth the $80-something you got from hosting aff?

So in conclusion, I would offer VPS if you know they need support and charge a honest price for your time, dedication, and hosting responsibilities.

    Cheers

    $15 - $20 is a fair price. Level 3 VPS can handle 30-50 websites.

It is still up to you on how much to charge. Just make sure you can provide good service and good support.

Look in the marketplace and see what others are doing, that would seem like the most logical move to me.
