I'm getting some good amount of traffic from Stumbleupon lately, and I feel tempted to install GA on my site to show Google this traffic and maybe get a boost in organic traffic.

Now, I'm also using my own PBN to link to the site, which is the reason I never installed GA in the first place.

Can you guys share your thoughts or experience, is it worth doing it or not?

Social traffic is generally good for SEO (especially when it's viral - various people share your stuff, life it ....) It shows real involvement of users.

Lol at you wanting to show Google your social traffic. Every bit of data Google needs to rank sites they can get themselves without your help. So, if they were using percentage of social traffic to rank sites, they probably already know how much social traffic your site and other sites on the web are getting.

Stumbleupon = high bounce rate in most cases. i wouldn't be telling G about it, but like SEO Power just mentioned above: G can/does/will get that info w/o your help

ok then, I will leave Google Analytics alone. Not itching for it anymore :)

The stumbleupon traffic is indeed high bounce and that's probably not a good idea to show. I use a heatmap on that page that's getting the traffic and there's almost no interaction, whereas organic traffic interacts a lot.

Thanks all for answering my questions!

GA allows you to see a small slice of the information big G sees about your site - not the other way round.

I wouldn't if I were you. Not if you have your PBN at risk.
